whats your hunting arrow for 2014. shaft, fletch, nock, braodhead

Last year I was shooting with three other guys at Easton that were testing the FMJ injection while I was shooting the FMJ 340. I was pulling the same if not a bit more lbs and every time they were all getting farther penetration (about 3"-6" more) on the 3D targets than I was. Never has the standard FMJ looked so FAT as it did that day!

I just got the Injection FMJ 330's and am trying to figure out if I should do a 3x or 4x vane setup. Also debating on a 125 grain broadhead (Slick Trick or Solid fixed blades for Idaho Elk, 125 grain Ulmer Edge for Utah) over the standard 100 grain. Will have to figure out FOC of each setup.

My current setup which I'll use on my Hoyt Alpha Max 35 is the FMJ 340, Nitro 2" Vanes, 4" wrap, standard 20 grain insert and 100 grain Grim Reaper Razor Tip.

Will also be testing the Easton da'Torch with a 75 or 50 grain brass insert, 2" Blazers, 4" wrap, 100 grain Ulmer Edge and Nockturnal Lighted Nock.

Yea, I'm very undecided as of yet. Any feedback on any of these setups is appreciated.

I'm shooting the FMJ Injexion 330. Using VAP Penetrator II insert/outsert 50gr. 3 inch Vanetec Super Spine helical fletched. 125gr heads.

Haven't weighed them but should be right at 500gr. They have been shooting/grouping well out to 60 yards with FP. I shot broadheads yesterday. Both Slick Trick mags and Razor Tricks, both were dead on out to 50 yards. Really liking this arrow.

I'm sure somebody already mentioned this, but I learned from another guy on here to glue two 20 gr Easton Injexion inserts & that really helps increases FOC if you don't want to use the outsert.

Gold Tip Kinetic XT 300 @28.5 inches. 4" wrap with 3 helical blazers and G nocks. Don't know on the broadhead yet....shot 100 grain reapers last year.... Like the idea of the Ulmer.

In regards to the outsert.... Have they changed the design? I've hammered em through OSB board and into a 4x8 (miss) and haven't had an issue with bending.

Black Eagle Rampage .300 spine, 50gr brass Easton HIT inserts in them, 4" white wraps, 4 fletched AAE Pro Max vanes in Fire Orange, Bohning A-nocks, 100gr Ulmer Edge heads.

Still testing shafts. Was going to shoot ABS Grizzlystik momentum shafts, went to buy a dozen and found out that I was looking @ the price for only a half dozen so those are out.

Going to try Vap 300's with Firenock Aeroutserts cut to 27.5 with VPA 150 grain 1 1/4" 3 blade for deer and antelope, and their 1 1/8" 2 blade for elk.

If I don't like those aeroutserts ill just put in the deep six inserts and shoot slick trick 100 grain standards.

Easton fmj 400 with 2 pink blazers and 1 pink tiger stripe blazer, easton nocks, and 125 gr slick tricks.

I'm, about to refletch a dozen fmj's and think I'll do them red, white, and blue.

VAP V1 300, Penetrator 2 insert/outsert, Shuttle T-Lock 100 g, Blazer wraps and vanes. 444gr- So far lovin them.

Running Easton FMJ 400 Injexions with 3 3.6 Flex Fletch with a 4" Bohning wrap under them. Also have two D6 inserts inside the shaft for increased FOC up front strapped on with Solid S30V broadhead for elk and Ulmer Edge or Spitfire for deer! Finished arrow weight, 430 grains, 73 lbs from a Hoyt Faktor 34, 27.5" draw, spitting them out right around 280.

CE Maxima reds, 125 gr. non-vented VPAs 20 gr., GT insert weight, 6" wraps and 3 Blazers 460 grs and 14% foc. This will be the lightest arrow I've used.
