What did you do today to get ready for archery season?

90 minute gym session, shot 4 dozen arrows, two hour nap. Just picked up my first bow last week, shooting 6” groups of 12 arrows at 20 yds. Not sure if I’ll be ready to shoot an animal this year, but I’ll be practicing like I’m planning on it.

Better move to 30. Arrows are expensive. 😀

Stopped by the range on my way in for a night shift.
Shot a few quivers with my backup release. Definitely saw some variance from the release I had been shooting. I'll have to adjust length a little, as it seemed to feel different at anchor.

That's a good idea.

Went to the gym, and did some pre-hab on some of the problem areas that shooting can cause issues in. Read some forums to keep my mind thinking on what my game plan will be in certain hunting situations.

Worked out. Yoga.

Getting organized for a backup bow. Need to run it to the archery shop so they can move the peep and nock.

Ordered ‘shooting the stick is’. Shot another 4 dozen, trying to break in the bow so I can get it in for a pro tune. Also hoping to solidify my anchor and avoid building too many bad habits.

Cut 1/4" off the back end of a half dozen arrows so they would match the other 12 I have set up.

Fletched that half dozen, spun them, and weighed them.

Tinkered with the placement of the thumb knob on my release.

I'm driving an hour to bring my bow into the shop. I fell apart Sunday, arrow fell off the rest at half draw and I bumped my release when I let off. So my string jumped off and my peep is missing. I don't see any limb or string damage.
Follow up. Shout out to Riverside Archery in Mt Vernon. They checked everything out and put a new peep on. Gave me some tips on tightening groups. Really top notch guys

Working on my back tension. Shot multiple 4 arrow groups out to 40 at 1“ dot. Working out to 60 over the weekend. Getting dialed back in for longer distances before September

Rested....have to let the muscles recover. Tomorrow, back to the gym after 2 days off.

Shot my bow for an hour followed by a 5 mile run. Needed redemption from last Saturday my 10k trail run was abysmal lol. If elk lived in flat country I would be unstoppable.

Took the target out to an ag field for some more distance. Cold bore broadhead at 60. I'm pleased 😁

Ta406, get a brace that prohibits any side to side torque. I found I can walk quite well that way with a sprained ankle......well, at least to a tolerable level of suck.
