Johns Hopkins Map of cases
Ours has taken some pretty big steps. Most of the office people are working remotely from home now. Us field hands have not really had much change yet. I see us changing to emergent work only here real soon tho. The CO-19 is a problem but the bigger problem is the hysteria around it. If anyone at work has ANY illness or ANYONE at home is sick, they are a mandatory 14 days off. This is starting to take a toll on crew Make up. Time will tell.Utilities across the country are starting to divide there employees in half......on a week off a week, so one person doesn’t infect an entire department........think about that for a minute folks, especially city residents.
Is there anyone currently in the California lockdown here? I'm hoping to get insight on the process. I am in Washington and supposed to start a job that involves a perishable product (seedlings). Job site has no cold storage, so I am hoping to find out about how much advance warning you had and if there were any exceptions. (I would have zero contact with anyone).
Thanks in advance.
Nice man! Thats good of youoh..young healthy people are to help seniors. i am my 91 year old neighbors "grocery getter". we have an agreement..she slips cash into her mailbox, and i "ding-dong ditch" her and leave the goods at the front door.
Government would have turned it into $0.00If the Government sends me a check for $1,000 I will invest it in the stock market and turn it into $500.
See, that's what I don't get. You say it won't get so bad because these countries have taken steps to slow the spread but what does that have to do with anything. Once this gets to India or Africa, if it really is this dangerous, it will spread like wildfire with millions of severe cases and hundreds of thousands of deaths. Just one case in India should set off a massive snowball effect regardless if the grade schools in Connecticut are washing their hands.

It won't get that bad in each respective country where the containment is. The people infected in Connecticut can help their neighbors in Connecticut. The people in India and Africa will have their time to help themselves out when it hits there. India only has 169 cases so far to date. Why? Could be they aren't testing and they don't know. It could be seasonal. Not sure, but when the time comes they will somehow have to try to minimize it like other countries are.
We have a lot of people working from home, mainly because schools are closed, but we have the option to come to the office. I’ll do a little of both since there are days I will have to watch my kid.Utilities across the country are starting to divide there employees in half......on a week off a week, so one person doesn’t infect an entire department........think about that for a minute folks, especially city residents.

I get that. Why haven't the 169 cases in India turned into 500,000? If it is that contagious in a country with poor hygiene it would seem simple that it would explode. Yet, crickets.

Looked at that map quite a bit.. why do they show 0 recoveries in the US? Pretty sure there have been recoveries here.
I'm on lockdown. Rumors swirled for a couple days and everyone knew about it before the official announcement was made. They also announced it around 10 am and it didn't go into effect until midnight that night.
If I knew someone with the virus I’d go give them a big sloppy kiss and get this over with for me. I’d rather be on the front end of this while there’s still lots of meds and ventilators if I need them.

that's encouraging.... as long as I can hunt and fish, I will refrain from becoming a menace to society.Im locked down as well. There was basically no warning, almost daily changes to what was being recommended before lockdown came. Like the previous reply said, groceries, gas, banks, medical and laundromats stay open. Restaurants are to go only if they choose to stay open. Still allowed out to walk, run, hike exercise that maintains social distancing (so I'll be upping my packed mileage goal before season opens). I'm working from home in a limited state as I work for school district with difficult/dangerous kids.
