Worldometer and CDC are reporting less than 2,000. I think somebody made a typo and the media said "hurray, look at this!" And ran wild with it and threw it to all the gullible idiots who swallowed it like a hungry bass goes after a worm. The US just reported its deadliest day for coronavirus patients as states reopen, according to WHO
Dozens of states have unveiled reopening plans and several, including Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas, have already begun to allow nonessential retailers to reopen.www.cnbc.com
Deadliest day in the us so far, 2900 lives.

Fauci said the virus has been shown to be "highly transmissible," adding the emergence of this virus "exploded upon us" and has kept him up at night.
"Everyone is at risk unlike some infections," he said.
Off of CNBC.
Either CNBC is misqoteing, or Fauci is lying.
"Everyone is at risk". What a bunch of malarkey! What about the thousands of people that test positive but don't have any symptoms? How is that "risk".
Why the US is facing a hospital bed shortage
Health care in the U.S. is big business, and hospitals operate at or near full capacity to maximize profits. U.S. hospitals have shed about a half million hospital beds over the past 40 years. But what happens when a pandemic strikes?

More lies from CNBC.
The US is facing a hospital bed shortage? Than why are doctors and nurses being laid off? Why are there hospitals with COVID-19 floors that are nearly empty? And why, in New York City, by far the worst hit area in the US, end up treating a grand total of 182 patients in the COMFORT, with 1,000 beds, before it left. That's over 800 beds available right in New York. And even that 182 weren't all in there at once.
In LA, the MERCY treated 70 non-coronavirus patients in the past month. It had 750 medical personnel.
I think I have good reasons for believing <2% of the news. I think any person with a little bit of common sense, gathering facts in person, and a little book knowledge could prove > 50% of any mainstream liberal news feed as; important details left out, exaggerated, or totally false.
