The end result isn't all that matters... I've shot well over 100 deer with .223's, .30-30's, .308's, 6.5's, and bigger guns and had clean kills with all of them but there is a difference in typical performance and likelihood of deflection/disintegration, or penetration issues of any particular round.One makes an animal measurably more deader than the other?
