Or maybe those like us realized we couldn't and shouldn't act like a 16 year old anymore.Maybe so. I’ m getting up there in years as well, so maybe I just notice it more.

Simply not true. There is way more profanity used in general these days. I grew up in the 70’s and 80’s. Was in the military from ‘86-‘92. College in the late ‘80’s. Used to go to a lot of pro and college sports games. Was even in a fraternity briefly. Lived in 12 states north and south. Worked in finance, worked in technology, worked in restaurants. At no time was the profanity close to what is used today. Not even in question. What has really changed is people using it in much more public places and around young kids. You insinuated that it’s a more profane time. It’s not it’s just easily accessible. Didn’t hear anything different at the race track in the 80’s or construction site and army in the 90’s. It’s the access that everyone has now and they expect podcasters or who ever to adhere to what they personally want.
To ask two guys who are being themselves to change who they are to appease a bunch of guys who's skin crawl at the sound of an F Bomb is an insane request.
No of course they dont. Same as I dont use that language when im talking to a customer or at a business meeting.Do they use the same language in their UM business correspondences? Daily speech? Or is this exclusive to the podcast?
Kinda wondered about this as well.Do they use the same language in their UM business correspondences?
These are the same people that go to a rated R movie and complain its to violent or profaneNo of course they dont. Same as I dont use that language when im talking to a customer or at a business meeting.
It has become crystal clear in this thread that a lot of you guys have zero understanding as to what a podcast is. Its a Talk Show. A digital radio program. Some of you guys would have passed away if you ever listened to the Howard Stern Show back in the day.
The reason podcasts are taking over is because they are ungoverned, unregulated and people can say and do whatever they want. The owner of the podcast doesnt report to anybody. That's why people listen, because its real unscripted content.
Shoot2Hunt is 2 buddies having an unscripted conversation with each other about what ever topic they choose to discuss. They are being themselves. If you dont like them dont listen.
You have to physically seek out the podcast and press play, if you dont like the podcast dont listen to it. That's it. Period.
Asking these guys to water themselves down and not be themselves because you are offended by words is insane.

Everyone knows Howard Stern is a bottom-feeding loser too. He proved it every day to those sheeple who bothered to listen. No of course they dont. Same as I dont use that language when im talking to a customer or at a business meeting.

I've listened to 1 or 2 podcasts in my life. I couldn't care less if the guys on Shoot2Hunt use profanity. The market will determine if people enjoy their content and listen to it. My comments (and others) are more of an observation on the amount of profanity used in our society in general, and whether that is a good thing or not. I'm leaning towards the NOT side.No of course they dont. Same as I dont use that language when im talking to a customer or at a business meeting.

If you're bored enough to support Hollywood scum by paying to see their movies, you've got issues as well. These are the same people that go to a rated R movie and complain its to violent or profane
I agree. I never listened to him and cant stand the guy. Its the point Im making. I chose not to listen to him because I hated his content, even though I was from NY and everyone around me thought it was great and listened, I didnt. It never crossed my mind to ask him to change his content so I would listen.Everyone knows Howard Stern is a bottom-feeding loser too. He proved it every day to those sheeple who bothered to listen.
I agree with you but thats not the topic of this thread. When I hear someone using an F Bomb every other word I think they are white trash.I've listened to 1 or 2 podcasts in my life. While wandering deep into a special section of blowdown last weekend, this was the phrase I was looking for!But the most concise and hilarious use of profanity that I’m aware of comes from a coworker of my son’s. He’s a Mexican laborer who doesn’t speak English well. When confronted with a messy or disastrous situation, his usual utterance is “All is F**k!”
I would not stop listening if they cleaned it up. The cursing has zero impact on how I enjoy the show. They sound just like 90% of the guys in the trades who I work with. Good people who use curse words amongst men, not in front of women and children or in professional settings. Some would argue that being at work in the trades is a professional setting, but there is nuance. When I was in management rolls professionally, we would never use profanity in front of subordinates, but if we were in a meeting or setting where it was all management, even EVP and senior management would curse.Well, I didn’t ask anyone to water down anything because I’m offended. I simply asked if this is how they comport themselves normally. I don’t know them and was just genuinely curious.
If it’s not “who they are” in daily life, but how they want to act in the media, so be it. Although, unlike in, say, the movie Goodfellas, the podcast vulgarity isn’t largely additive.
It seems communication has been at issue for these guys both in their business and podcast, even though they apparently have good things to offer on both fronts. Following negative feedback, they’ve shown improvement on the business side, with more ample updates and a more often up to date website.
If they don’t want to or are unwilling to make a change on the podcast side, it likely only hurts consumption. If they don’t care, that’s their business. Don’t bother to pose the question then. Or maybe it’s all a big publicity stunt; sort of an attracting flies to the dung heap kind of thing. Idk.
But since they asked why not use vulgarity, and apparently they can turn the switch on or off, I’m not buying the it’s insane to ask them to change thing. The matter at hand is answering why they should consider a change.
So long as they like how they comport themselves and don’t care to cater to those who’d prefer a different presentation, what’s left is simply a matter of do they care about the numbers and which slant optimizes listenership.
Would you stop listening if they cleaned it up? Or would that water down the entertainment such that the content wouldn’t be worth consuming?
It is a handy phrase, and I think blowdown or dog hair thicket are apt occasions for its proper use. While wandering deep into a special section of blowdown last weekend, this was the phrase I was looking for!
¡Por favor, dile a ese joven, gracias de mi parte!
It will be muttered frequently as I’m a bit of a savant at finding horrible sections of blow down.
Well, it would appear that a lot of folks on this thread will be taking your advice. Won’t be tuning in.No of course they dont. Same as I dont use that language when im talking to a customer or at a business meeting.

That's good, maybe they can start worrying about one of the millions of other problems we have in society today instead being so upset by bad words.Well, it would appear that a lot of folks on this thread will be taking your advice. Won’t be tuning in.
