The response Jake and Ryan asked for concerning "why not use vulgarity?"

The sheer amount of profanity in the S2H podcast makes it too much for me to listen to personally. There was a few episodes I suffered through for the sake of the information gleaned but I won’t listen to it again. I am also not writing an Honors English level paper about it either though. Did you cite your sources at the end?
I'm in the same boat. I wanted to listen and I wanted to like the podcast. I didn't make it 10 minutes due to all the profanity.

Frankly, there is no need for it. And there was no reason for me to ignore it all just get information available in other places.

As a side note, I was not surprised. I listen to a lot of @Cliff Gray . I love his content. The week after going to S2H, his podcast had a noticable rise in f-bombs. They never really existed before or since. But for that week, they were there. I remember thinking, "S2H teachers must constantly use that word".

That is a perfect example of why it matters who to listen to and who you hang out with...

bwhaha, there probably is a correlation to a rise in f-bombs and shooting with a bunch of degenerates for a week. :)

as a side note, across my content I have tried to thin it down. Mostly driven by meeting folks in person who are with their kids... "we watch your content together". I never honestly thought about kiddos watching my stuff. I've got kids too, so understand that.

in real life, I have trailer trash level dialogue so I do reserve the right to f-bomb my balls off on the shoot2hunt podcast...

You should be real proud, and hopefully your kids don't mimic their dad.

It's a cumulative effect for me - the constant foul language, the awful intros, and the Stockys Stocks ads at 3x volume making me feel like I need to wipe the spittle off my face when I'm driving my truck by myself - have me listening to it less. Like many in here.

But, they can do whatever they please.

I would say, I have paused podcasts MANY times to google a product and have likely made a number of purchases. I don't know why you'd create a podcast that is product focused (hunting gear, guns, etc) and choose to drive people away when I'm sure I'm not the only impulsive gear ho out there.

Cliff, I think you do a great job keeping the language family-friendly enough for a hunting channel. That is why the step-change was so obvious after going to S2H.

The pearl clutching….. my lands.

You all can’t stand the language but, buy scopes and take classes from the same dudes hurting your ears.
Negative ghost rider. Never have, never will. This one fella I get to listen to in person doesn't resort to that type of language and doesn't have to, and he's won 11 Camp Perry's to boot. Not sure why some feel it's necessary. It's pretty bush league actually.

Radical idea… don’t listen to the podcast

I’m certainly no language prude, played sports in school ( coaches didn’t cut it short with the blue language), in the Army ( ‘nuff said ! ) , plus have spent 78 years on the planet, so I’ve heard it all and used a lot of it at times myself ! Having said that, at my advancing age, I find myself wondering why people feel the need, if indeed it’s a conscious decision to do so, to use such language(? ). Are they unable to communicate without it? Do they think it’s somehow impressive? Is it in some way synonymous with being “ manly “? Or…is it simply just another example of the coarsening of our society?

All I’m here to say is that if they’d spent less time cursing on the podcast and more time cursing Stockys and UM staff, I probably wouldn’t still be waiting on the two Rokstoks I ordered in September.

/s. Maybe?
