The Beer Thread

didn't read all the responses yet, so my apologies if it's been said, but Laughing Lab from Bristol Brewery in Co Springs is a must have- all of the Bristol beers are amazing.

IPAs are a gift from heaven as far as beer goes. I am lucky to have a few micros near me that brew a few good ones. My staple is Freds Red IPA from Tamarack brewing in Mt. Also there is Hat Trick IPA (available in cans) and Double Haul IPA (canned). In fact, the Double Haul from Kettle house Brewing in Missoula MT just won a gold medal for IPAs in the World Beer Championships. Kettlehouse maked Coldsmoke too (canned)! Good stuff when Im not in an IPA mood!

Damn I can't belive I just now found this thread. When its hot it taste real crappy but cold ale will make me happy. Beer is good. My go to sippin beer is Sierra Nevada's hoptimum double IPA. I love me some hops.

While it's not in cans or bottles, Deschutes Brewery had a dark IPA that was verrrry tasty. It is called Hop in the Dark. Only place I've had it was at their pub in Portland though. It's only brewed at a certain time of year too.

Humm, that's interesting and good to know. One of my favorite McMenamins draft pours is half IPA/half Terminator Stout that I call the Stout Indian or Pale-a-nator.

I try every IPA I can find. Some are great, some just okay. Ive been looking really hard for Pliny the elder or Pliny the younger. No such luck in Montana so far. Those beers always score very high at the festivals.

I also have tried many Oregon brewed IPAs. Dont like them as much........the cascade hops that they use tastes too floral for me. I dont like drinking flowers :)

^^ this is awesome. Had this the other day and it was great!

A tip we've used for getting beer chilled down a bit, in the BC, is to wrap a couple cans in a wet towel or shirt and hang in the breeze. The evaporation acts like a mini swamp cooler and will drop the temp a few degrees below ambient.
But mostly I just stash them in a creek or spring if possible.

I just had an IPA explode in my pack on an overnighter a week or so ago. While bushwhacking I smelled the distinct aroma of hops emanating from my pack. A true tragedy.
