I got my Bikini EMR2 last night. It was left on my porch on Friday but I had to have a buddy grab it since I was gone. All that I had was a 15# bag of catfood to quickly throw in it to do the push mowing. I had the Duplex frames before so it was a little different. I really like it and the pack though. I wonder if I will even want to use my LH lid. This pack is more feature-filled than my DT1 by far and I am really happy with it. I know that this is not a Bikini thread but I plan on putting some weight in it soon. Christmas in May!

I'm still getting a feel for my EMR II. Favorite feature is that big old zipper down the middle..

Mine works good as a kid hauler also. Had the grab it II inside the bag like a seat. My son loved it!

Couldn't get my wife in the grab-it either...weird...
But my little girls think it's great. I got out the kelty kid pack the other day and one of them asked if we could use the pack with the Orange seat instead. (I used to put em on the meat sling of my Badlands.

Mail man just came with my EMRII! Came postage-due, which I thought was kinda weird, but no biggie.

This thing is a monster, but it came in day mode to fit in the box and in that regard, it look slike a 3000" bag...and the big zipper is awesome just playing with it; it opens the whole bag up. There's so much stuff on it and buckles and flaps and webbing, and it's every bit as cavernous as the bag I had made for my Barneys. I just opened it up really quick in the garage, I'm going to have to really spread it out and look at everything on it. Wow.

No pics for a while...it's fishing season and I'm off to launch the boat now and will be chasing kings on a fly all weekend. Hopefully get a hike in with it this week and post pics and option then. This is my first Kifaru, so I'm sure I'll have some questions.

You sound just like me when mine arrived! I can feel your excitement!

Is the Duplex or Bikini frame better suited for this pack? I'm trying to decide between this or the Nomad for my Bikini frame.

I think the vast majority of guys have went with the duplex, including me. I've never used a bikini frame so I can't really comment on how I think it would work with that but the duplex is nice for me. Maybe a couple guys that have this with the bikini can comment.

I went Duplex. A pack of this size is not for counting ounces and you want as much frame as you can get.

My Bikini frame works great with my EMR2 and it makes the setup that much lighter. I would consider picking the frame based on what you want in a frame, not necessarily based on the bag your using.

So just took the EMR on a 16 mile two day trip. Really like the layout.

Some things I kind found helped when packing it. Cinch the very bottom straps tight (cinches the sleeping bag area) then load vertically with the zipper open.

I found this kept the load skinny and compact.

Other then that, it was great. I love the wings and pockets!

as travis said, we got the emr's out this weekend. im really liking the layout of this pack. it is VERY quick for me to get my spotter and tripod out give something a closer look. it also snugs everything down well and sheds are easy to strap on.

Christmas came early today in the form of an EMR II and bikini frame. Man this thing is one beast of a pack! So many possibilities for different configurations and adjustments....I love it. I'm still playing around with it and trying to get it adjusted just right.

New Kifaru should be an air freshener scent :D

I'm STILL playing around with different ways to pack it. I am finally figuring it out though now and it's more my OCD then anything. The features on this bag are great!

I have a bikini frame with this pack and I don't think I'm going to suffer at all for what it's worth.
