My current timeline is waiting for approval. Submitted 1/31. My last approval was right around 7 days. The one before that same. So we will see. I would hope it gets faster with the efficiency ideas. More people doesn’t equal more efficient. Just look at any city or county construction site. Two people working for the 10 watching.Curious how you guys see this playing out, but it sure looks like Trump and Elon are eliminating and gutting agencies… certainly they’ll be friendlier to suppressor ownership, but if they cut headcount’s, I’d think processing time would go up? I also see a rumor of them eliminating ATF, but in that scenario I don’t see how you could even get the tax stamp? So there would be no real enforcement, but the NFA is still the law, so buying a new one could be tricky? Maybe?
I sincerely don’t want this to turn into a political argument but I’m wondering if this is the end of the quick turnaround time? If they make ATF more “efficient” I presume that would increase processing times.
The piece I don’t know is, if the stamp doesn’t come from ATF and it’s just a federal thing then maybe yeah it all gets even easier.
Just not sure what to expect. Feels like this could either be a good time to buy one (the end of the quick turnaround window) OR the worst time to buy (start of the rubber stamp era).
Purchased October 15, got fed up watching everyone else getting approval quickly. Wrote my congressman. What do you know, two days after he contacted ATF, approval…
So annoying.
But nice to see my elected officials going to work for me.
