Issues With Suppressor on 7/16 Threads?

I recently bought a TBAC Ultra 7 and planned on swapping it back and forth on a couple rifles. One of these rifles is a Kimber Mountain Ascent in 6.5 CM that is factory threaded 7/16x28. I contacted TBAC to see if they made a direct CB adapter to that thread instead of using multiple adapters and they responded not to put a suppressor on any 7/16 thread with any caliber greater than .224. Their only suggestion was to send them the rifle to cut and rethread the barrel to 9/16 to leave a little more metal at the attachment point.

Obviously these guys have incredibly more expertise and knowledge than I do but I am curious to see if anyone here runs a suppressor on 7/16 without issues. I would think the concern would be the weight of the suppressor and potential of getting hit to bend the metal slightly at the attachment point?

I've had no issues with 1/2-28 threads on Kimber barrels.
Shoulder is cut when the diameter is 0.600''.

Put an adapter on it and you’ll be fine. Kimber makes a 7/16 to 5/8 adapter that is on their website, but you can probably get one from elsewhere. TBAC is probably the most conservative suppressor manufacturer out there on adapters and shoulders. All of my guns use adapters and none of them have the shoulder requirements that TBAC wants.

This is why I don’t like TBAC. There is no justification for their recommendation other than to sell you their bullshit “face mount”.
There is an ongoing thread here somewhere that details all of the failures people have had with 1/2” threads on 30 cal rifles. I will give you a preview. There are none.

1/2-28 threads over 0.308 caliber has thicker walls than 7/16-28 threads over top of 0.264

I will disagree with you by saying I don't believe their justification is BS at all, and has the end customer in mind. Suppressors are far more expensive than simply putting larger muzzle threads on the end. They have to draw a line in the sand somewhere for warranty purposes

While there is a fine chance it would be OK, if I am OP and have a local gunsmith who can thread for $85, I would just thread it 1/2-28 for the convenience factor

Thread adapters are fine, but you are going to spend $40 to $50 on that too

I have the 7/16x28 - 5/8x24 adapter already that comes with the gun. I was hoping to eliminate that adapter and go directly from 7/16 to the CB mount thread. I found an old classifieds add on here with that exact part so I contacted TBAC to see if they still machined that adapter. That is what opened this can of worms when they informed me that they would not put any suppressor on any threads less than 9/16.

There is no real benefit to the CB mount. It just adds weight. TBAC makes good suppressors, but they are FOS on this issue.
