TBAC Ultra 7 - their site says it can handle a 16” 7 SAUM.
And the Magnus line is 12” with saums.

Buddy’s cousin had the same thing happen on his 300PRC. He had a great customer service experience, but it was another failure.Dang. Seems to be a lot of failures occurring.
Post #706SiCo had some issues with welds coming apart a few years ago. What can was that on?
It’s not hard to find cans blown apart going pretty far back. Seems they take care of it. But not surprised. A sub 8oz suppressor with no barrel length restrictions, and their first tubeless titanium suppressor.SiCo had some issues with welds coming apart a few years ago. What can was that on?
Got a reply. Saying they are tracking the reports and seeing 1/1000 sold roughly. He forwarded it to a few other departments and maybe they will come up in the forum to address. Based on RS users that number may be a tad off.I just shot them an email and recommended discussing the issue on the forum or coming up with a fix. FYI.
Interesting... nice to get a reply. Still on the fence about picking one up due to these recent failures. Thinking TBAC would be the painless way to go.Got a reply. It won’t be the quietest by any means, but I bet the Energetic Arms Vox S would stand a ton of abuse and only 12 something oz.This is starting to be mildly concerning, even if they fix mine I’m kind of lacking confidence in it with the 7 saum. Anyone know of any other cans that can handle an 18” 7 saum reliably?
You could ask AB. I asked if they’re cool if I used a raptor 8 on a 20” 300wsm and they said that would be fine. This is starting to be mildly concerning, even if they fix mine I’m kind of lacking confidence in it with the 7 saum. Anyone know of any other cans that can handle an 18” 7 saum reliably?
Although doesn’t SilencerCo claim the Scythe has no barrel restrictions up to 300 RUM?You could ask AB. I asked if they’re cool if I used a raptor 8 on a 20” 300wsm and they said that would be fine.
Agreed, makes me wonder if a larger aperture in the blast baffle (to take some stress off of that first weld) combined with a little thicker wall and weld would solve it. Also curious how quick that first weld achieves 800*F… not many of us shooting a 5 or 10 round mag fast while a friend holds a laser thermometer to check the can temp hahaAlthough doesn’t SilencerCo claim the Scythe has no barrel restrictions up to 300 RUM?
I think the question is who is simply marketing in bad faith and who isn’t managing their quality control.
Flush mounted or with a reflex? You could ask AB. I asked if they’re cool if I used a raptor 8 on a 20” 300wsm and they said that would be fine.
If you get one to come apart on a creedmoor, I'd say a recall is in order. My scythe has pretty much lived on my 21” 6.5 creedmoor, I’ve shot it a handful of times on my 18” 30-06 and 18” 308 but not that much.
Hopefully it won’t be an issue on my 18” 6.6 creedmoor when my barrel gets back from the gunsmith.
I guess I’ll keep using my TBAC ultra 7 on my 30 caliber rifles.
Or is satisfied with insufficient testing.Although doesn’t SilencerCo claim the Scythe has no barrel restrictions up to 300 RUM?
