Fingers crossed on mine. No issues to date and love the can. Close to 500 rounds consisting of 12” 556, 18” 7prc, 18” 22-250, 16” 556, 16” 6 arc and a little bit of 10.5” 300blk.

Probably close to 40-50% of that is the 18” 7prc with a stout load of N570.

My shot groups are typically 3-5 rounds, then let the barrel cool to the touch with a chamber chiller. Not sure if that plays any part of it. I try to keep the titanium from getting too hot to prevent excessive baffle wear but maybe it’s also a good idea to prevent the welds from separating.

Edit to add- I have not cleaned the can. Never have for centerfire as it’s not needed per mfr.

My scythe-ti blew up in around 300 rounds in combination with a 25 prc and 300 wsm in 22" barrels. Mild loads in both. Never did anything but cold bore shooting. They had originally told me it would be fine in my 22" 300 norma improved with the mild loads Im using. I didn't have a baffle strike as I hit the bullseye at 890 yds. Can separated and the front half went 50 yds down range. Separated right at the weld. The wall is only .030 thick roughly. Wouldnt mind it being a hair thicker as it wouldnt add any weight. The warranty and replacement process was easy and I had a replacement in 2 weeks. Ill use it on cull hunts around the house. But I won't be taking it in the middle of nowhere hunting. I have the TBAC Magnus K RR on the way. Have the Magnus S RR and its amazing. The K will be a hair lighter and shorter. More ideal for a hunting setup. And TBAC is bomb proof.

I just shot them an email and recommended discussing the issue on the forum or coming up with a fix. FYI.
Got a reply. Saying they are tracking the reports and seeing 1/1000 sold roughly. He forwarded it to a few other departments and maybe they will come up in the forum to address. Based on RS users that number may be a tad off.

Interesting... nice to get a reply. Still on the fence about picking one up due to these recent failures. Thinking TBAC would be the painless way to go.

This is starting to be mildly concerning, even if they fix mine I’m kind of lacking confidence in it with the 7 saum. Anyone know of any other cans that can handle an 18” 7 saum reliably?
It won’t be the quietest by any means, but I bet the Energetic Arms Vox S would stand a ton of abuse and only 12 something oz.

Designs for belt fed full auto, some fancy NASA super alloy!

You could ask AB. I asked if they’re cool if I used a raptor 8 on a 20” 300wsm and they said that would be fine.

My scythe has pretty much lived on my 21” 6.5 creedmoor, I’ve shot it a handful of times on my 18” 30-06 and 18” 308 but not that much.

Hopefully it won’t be an issue on my 18” 6.6 creedmoor when my barrel gets back from the gunsmith.

I guess I’ll keep using my TBAC ultra 7 on my 30 caliber rifles.

Although doesn’t SilencerCo claim the Scythe has no barrel restrictions up to 300 RUM?

I think the question is who is simply marketing in bad faith and who isn’t managing their quality control.
Agreed, makes me wonder if a larger aperture in the blast baffle (to take some stress off of that first weld) combined with a little thicker wall and weld would solve it. Also curious how quick that first weld achieves 800*F… not many of us shooting a 5 or 10 round mag fast while a friend holds a laser thermometer to check the can temp haha
