Revolvers

Comparing 6” 357 mag to 5” 44 special and 3.75” and 5” 44mag I have grown to greatly prefer 44special over the other two with 44mag second. I have a sweetheart 44special GP100 and a charter bulldog 3” that are my favorite revolvers. I load 210RNFP with unique in both and it’s super accurate and has less blast my than the 357 and less recoil than 44 magnum.
My first GP100 did crack the firing cone, so I quit with the really heavy rounds. I think it was compromised from the factory but that is a long story.

I load 45 lc, 225 hollow points and unique. Today I had to butcher two pigs. Amazing how fast and clean it killed those pigs.

I found the loads in a guns and ammo article in the 70s and have never changed. It's just too good to change.

I recently acquired a Single Six Hunter in .17 HMR. Waiting on an 8-shot .17 HM2 cylinder before I get serious with it. Data I found online (datum, really) indicate a potential ±½" from 15 yards to 85 yards here.

I think an adapter plate for one of these could be fabricated to fit over the Ruger rail. If so, it should allow the factory sights to co-witness with the optic installed. Potentially viable product for someone -- how many Ruger Hunters are out there?
