They are legit and I know what location your are referring to. It's been a long couple months and there are a ton of places that need security to keep the idiotic morons from doing stupid stuff. On the other end of that fire, they had game wardens from Minnesota doing the road checks. I couldn't understand what they were saying either.......

It's a well travelled road that acesses a lot of country, especially this time of year. There are folks coming through that have no idea that it has been closed for fire activity. The road block should have information and if staffed by guards, they should be able to convey to the public why. Pretty simple ask, I would say.

I think there are far less civilized things on here than saying that someone looks like a jerk in a situation. But I should have done better.

I appreciate the follow up that this is legit. I’ve been on both sides of this situation more than I can remember at this point and have never heard anything like this.

Nevertheless, I’m going to go ahead and beat on this dead horse some. Taking OPs description of the conversation… “is it burned back there” Response, “… what a nice truck you have.” I mean, cut the OP some slack fellas. That response is so very close to….

Figured there was a fair chance it wouldn't land. That video came came to mind as I read that post, similar vibe. Just google "I am not a man video". Weirdly uptight and accusatory for a seemingly simple post. Agree with OP that it was a weird situation, no rant as far as I can see.

Just from my personal experience road closures are not always legit or legal. Fire response aside I have run into many "closed" roads around races and events. Normally staffed by civilians in green vests. I don't see a single issue in checking on the status of a closure with the people standing there closing it. More often than not in my case they have no permit or authority to close the road and by bringing it up I am able to make my way past the road block to carry on whatever I was looking to do. Obvi not the same as a fire closure, but to everyone piling on saying what an idiot, or a jerk for daring to question the people at the closure and look for answers beyond "it is closed" I think you may need to chill. It was a weird situation and god forbid someone mention it.
