PSA--Why you should NOT use Silencer Central to purchase a suppressor

What was the issue? Did you cross thread something?
No, no cross threading, the end cap is just fused on. I can’t get it off no matter how hard I try so I can’t switch it to the 9” length. It’s just a fully sealed silencer now.

Going back and forth with them on warranty wasn’t worth the time. I have better silencers so it’s just a beater to me now.

Got my first suppressor through Silencer Shop and was very impressed with the customer service and timeline.

I did not make things easy because I initially ordered a trust, canceled it, then regretted the whole thing and reordered one. They dealt with the bullshit with no issues.

Timeline as follows:

March 22: placed order
March 25: finger prints at local kiosk
April 2: remotely certified the e-form with my dealer while on a work trip
April 7: ATF approval

I was gifted a gift card thingy for the SoLo 22 suppressor from Silencer Central that's also good for a $345 credit towards any of the banish suppressors. Anyone have any experience with the Banish 22?

Banish 22 is actually pretty good. Baffles are titanium so it’s easy to clean. It’s as quiet as my DA mask and about 2/3rds the weight of the mask.

I reached out to SC today again (Post 111) They resolved this to my satisfaction. I did get the 4473 form late last night so back on track for a over 2 month delivery. Not all was their fault, a changed order and finger prints that did not show up so they resent to me to redo.

I would suggest all first time buyers read and shop around. I bought the SC kool aid.

I got a preparing to ship email yesterday which I guess means my local CLEO had no objections to my purchase. Figuring I'll have it at my door next week. So a bit over one month total from down payment to in hand. That is pretty good service in my book. Will follow the instructions and use some anti seize compound on the front cap threads.

So, my can is on the way. Looks like like it will be in my grubby mitts 34 days after placing my order. No delays at all with Silencer Central or the Feds. Very good communication from SC, have no issues at all with them. My finger prints are on file with SC now so I will watch for a sale or special from them on a big bore can.

The 2nd time I bought from them, I was able to just do it over text message while I was on an airplane.

When you consider all the steps involved, I consider my experience very lucky. E form submitted on a Friday, approved the following Monday. Quick action by my CLEO and immediate shipping once the mandatory 7 business days were up. No dropped balls anywhere! Of course FedEx needs to complete their part but they have been better than the USPS lately.
