Caught a glimpse of him one time while driving to work. Got permission from the landowner that I thought he was bedding on, studied google earth and picked out where I thought he was bedding. Hiked in there in the dark yesterday morning and found him at first light. Had to run down a couple hundred yards to get in front of them. Got to 60 and wind did a 180 and busted them. Sprinted to tallest hill and kept track of them until they bedded. Stalked into 30 yds and center punched him. I'll never know how given the location of hit and angle, but it somehow only got one lung. The next 8 hours consisted of running through the sandhills keeping tabs on him and one other buck that was with him. Would stalk into 30-40 yds and get busted, then relocate a mile or more away. Finally had a stalk work out to where I had a clean 65 yard shot when he was in his bed and center punched him again 4" from the first arrow, and that put him down. Was very still and dry so had to stalk in socks...feet are full of stickers lol...well worth it though.
