Had the opportunity to hunt a broken horn Simitar Horned Oryx a couple of weeks back. The schedule did occur at the same time I was supposed to turkey hunt, but it was worth eating the turkey tag. Wasn't sure we would be able to make it happen as these things were really skittish, getting under 100 yards was tough. With the recent rain we had lots of new green grass they were feeding on and not coming into the feeders much at all. After 5 or 6 blown stalks this old beast stopped at 48 yards. Shot in quartering away with a G5 Megameat and he was dead in less than 5 seconds! Absolutely beautiful animals and they taste amazing! 05080acb-e642-4386-8f80-64aeddccbf47.jpg

Congrats! How did the megameat hold up? Did you hit ribs going in? The deadmeat v2 has piqued my interest for quite a while. Any photos of the used broadhead?

The mega meat held up well. Hit a cpl ribs and lodged in the offside leg/shoulder area…or I should say armpit area..south of the shoulder. Just about poking out of the skin on the opposite side. Blades were bent , but great shape other than that.
