My savage 110 scoped is close to 10lbs. Being a small guy, I'd like to go lighter. I'm looking into the savage 110 ultralight. The weight makes it a very attractive option.

Any mods to help get it there? I just bought a Hunter pro.
I'm now officially down to one rifle—my new Kimber Hunter in 6.5 CM. It really (really) likes the 143 gr ELD-X's :)

The biggest bang also happens to be free—about a 1/2 pound by simply removing the “gel” out of the rear of the stock. When removed, replace it with a spray in foam. There’s at least one write up on this site—20 minute job.

There’s a guy (on 24hourcampfire) that sells a couple different models of titanium bolts for the Kimber-shaves ~an ounce. Shortening the barrel yields roughly an ounce/inch.

That’s all I’ve done.

There’s a worthwhile thread here to read—something along the lines of “how light can you get your Kimber”
