More gun control from the public land "sportsmen's" group

Might want to broaden your horizons then...I know probably a dozen former BHA members that have done a complete 180 on them. Talked to or been in discussions with MANY more. NONE of them are guys who can't get to where they want on foot.
Well what is their complaint?

I know guys who passionately hate Quail Forever because they don't kill limits every weekend. So obviously they're a stupid failure.

I know Democrats that carry everywhere they go.

Democrats with Class III licenses.

Democrats that have/are been president/board members of gun clubs, gun ranges, conservation/hunting organizations.

Hell there's plenty of pro-gun communists out there.

Can't seize the means of production and all that with bicycle chains and baseball bats with nails driven through them.

I agree with what you're saying. It drives me batshit when people act like knowing how someone voted in the last presidential election is the same as knowing point by point their position on every single hot button issue.

I was pointing out that Okhotnik likes to roll in here and drop these Busse threads (which he does like once a month minimum) as if they're shocking or something.

It'd be like me posting some piece where Rush Limbaugh mentions he's pro-life or Glen Beck said he was in favor of deregulation and acting baffled about it. Busse is a Democrat. He wants some degree of gun legislation, to include background checks and mandatory training. This isn't earth shattering stuff. Tons of people share those opinions. Tons of people vehemently disagree. Welcome to America.

Gotcha. I read your's as piling on the "well obviously he's evil and the enemy, he's a DEMOCRAT!" pile.

And yeah, it's definitely frustrating when people view everyone as falling into one of two monoliths.

And yeah, now that I think about it... All my friends that I know are Communist are also gun owners. Lol

As an aside, I’m halfway through Busse’s book and there has been very little substance thus far. Other than taking great pleasure in making the founders of Kimber look like fools, he is drawing the same old conclusions of the NRA is evil and drives too much policy, people who like assault rifles are white supremacists, republicans talk a good game but don’t seem to care about these public lands I cry over, etc.

Oddly enough, this book reads very similarity to Ty Sedule’s book Me and Robert E Lee: an insider atones for his past sins of being part of the machine that furthered the cause, has had an awakening, and now must tell the world how bad he feels about it. Some of the leaps they both make are profoundly reductive.

Wellllll......

Another reductive comment.

You’ll note I said he was making the same old arguments. He is adding nothing novel. When you write a book, you should ADD to an argument, not rehash it.

That was point, which you clearly missed.

Rokslide: (With no evidence) BHA is a wolf in sheeps clothing! They're playing the longest long game ever to end hunting! Richard Berman said so!

Also Rokslide: NRA's proven corruption that has done more harm than good to law abiding gun owners and 2A advocates and the proven wasteful spending on Wayne's wardrobe that does nothing to help their mission or members is totally okay and totally defensible. You're a Fudd if you say anything different!
Didn't you have a bunch of posts deleted in a thread a while back for basically calling everyone who didn't like BHA an idiot (and worse)? Pepperidge Farm remembers.

It's crazy to think that the owners of Rokslide, at one point(maybe still are) were giving serious consideration to just locking all threads that had anything to do with BHA. I know this because Robbie told me on the phone. Every single time BHA comes up it just turns into a thread full of shitting on BHA. Talk about the woke mob and cancel culture.

I'm going to guess 90% or more originates from the same source. Easy problem to fix if one wanted too.

Theres several, and I don't want them to be banned or blocked or cancelled or whatever. As a matter of fact, those are the guys I want to hear from. I want constructive criticism from some (emphasis on "some") of those people. I want those guys speaking up when something doesn't seem right. I want to hear the questions and be in the conversations to hash that stuff out. Some of those guys are smart guys. Some of those guys are super knowledgable about a wide range of topics. If BHA was doing something shady or corrupt, then they absolutely deserve to be called out on it, here or anywhere else. But what happens here sometimes is not constructive criticism or productive conversation, and to me that's a detriment to every member of this forum who presumably loves many of the same things I do.

From the link posted by the OP... this dude sounds like an emotionally led Ahole. Who doesn't understand history.

Most Republicans being against public lands isn't an argument.

It's a fact.

Probably a more accurate statement would be that most non-hunting Republicans are generally hostile to public lands. Much like most non-hunting Democrats are more likely to be in favor of aggressive gun control.

It's almost like hunters in these two groups could find some common ground....

Yeah, state your source for this "fact". You're entitled to your own opinion, but not your own facts. Don't confuse bought off politicians with the rest of either party. Your blood pressure and critical thinking will be much better off.

Not sure how this is a surprise.

Leftists love guns. They just don’t want you to have them. Guns are essential to leftists as their policies require force to gain compliance.

Kimber was trash for years. They mainstreamed MIM into small parts that failed constantly but spent big money on marketing and bribery of gunwriters.

Their business model was scamming the buyer into buying a project gun with sexy marketing…and targeting boomers with nostalgia of 1911s.

Clintons gun ban made it viable.

There are big parts of the gun world that are elitist and see themselves as above normal gun owners…go spend time around Class 3 owners for a full dose.

Now Kimbers management is at Sig…

You just told us all your friends are Dems. How exactly do you know how Repubs stand on public land issues? MSNBC?

How do you have communists as friends?

Perhaps you missed the last century or so, where communists literally murdered more human beings than any other group in the history of the world and did so gleefully…for their greater good.

Their sycophants still preach it…

WTF…
