I think what my boy Rodney meant, and I share his disbelief, is that it appears at one point SG was for sale, and MeatEater could have bought it, and didn't.

Pretty sad that a bunch of people who hunt would think a guy who monetizes hunting, public land, etc for his own gain to the tune of $100 million all while charging you $125 for a polyester 1/4 zip made in China for $5 is a good thing. Really shows what state our country is in right now.

Hunting shouldn’t be monetized or promoted to the masses on social media and TV, period.

I do not promote/monetize/profit off hunting by commenting on Rokslide.

To compare someone who has 346 comments on a forum since 2016, doesn’t have a FB or IG account, doesn’t have aYoutube channel to someone like Rinella trying to build a $100 million company by exploiting hunting public land on Youtube, FB, and IG is not only shortsighted but just bizarre and laughable.

Nobody says Tom cruise should stop doing movies and dedicate himself to community theater for the love of acting. that $100 million is a bunch of businesses - game calls, gear sales, clothing, media and a considerable amount of tasteful, semi nude pictures of Ole Cal. WTF is wrong with that? Yeah. They make money selling shit and producing content about hunting. Don’t like it? Don’t buy or watch/listen to it.

I would trad places with Rinella in a heart beat every day of the year and twice during hunting season.

You're missing the irony... its not about YOU. it's about the platform you are using. Internet forums are absolutely a form of social media and there are half a dozen ad spots on this page alone all monetizing hunting. It's not debatable

Every time you visit this forum you count as a visit which turns into a traffic count which gives rokslide the ability to charge companies to advertise here. You are part of the machine you dislike so much.

Can you tell me one sport or hobby that doesn't have a commercial industry around it with the intent to make money off of the people that participate in that activity? Name one.

I like entertainment and find Rinella very entertaining… shows, podcasts etc

There is a huge difference between marketing a product via a forum ad, say a bow, to hunters who need a bow vs what Rinella does, which is marketing and monetizing hunting public lands to anyone who will listen. I assure you, 99.9% of the population has never heard of Rokslide but they sure do watch Youtube or follow MAINSTREAM social media. I laugh when guys insist hunting forums are social media to the extent they reach anyone other than hunters. Come on man that’s as ridiculous an argument as comparing my impact posting on Rokslide to Rinella slathering his name all over the far reaches of social media so he can sell over priced chinesium products to those who think you need that to kill stuff while they lay waste to hunting as we know it while Rinella counts $100 dollar bills.

You’re delusional if you think Rinella gives a rip about the quality of the hunt you have, animals you see/harvest, or the land YOU hunt as long as you’re sitting out there in head to toe FL camo that you update to the latest pattern every couple years he’s happy.
