I may end up with another Silverado in a few years. I spend 3 hours a day commuting to/from work and the Chevy was way more comfortable, with similar fuel consumption. My brother has a 17 ltz z71 with the 6.2 and he regularly gets 22-24mpg.
The benefit of the Tacoma is resale, and offroad capabilities.

Can’t ever imagine having a commute like that!

Ummmmm. Yes, I'm still looking for 4 wheel drive and mud grippers!

Love this pic. I had two generations that went hunting. 2008 R and a 2012 R32. All wheel drive was awesome, but the low pro tires and tight suspension was not happy off road. As my off road activities grew, I moved to a Nissan Xterra. I really miss the 2008 R.

I have a few vehicles, most of them old.

Most western hunts it's the 2012 Ford F 350 pulling the 14 foot half top stock trailer. The trailer hauls out some gear and the Polaris Ranger w/ cab. Doors from the Ranger have to come off and ride out in the back seat of the F 350 to make it fit. Once we are at our camping location the stock trailer gets a canvas tarp stretched over the top and becomes our cook shack/ evening lounging area. We sleep in a Seek 8 man tipi w/ stove. Once camp is set we primarily drive the Ranger to hunting spots, but if we split up one of us can take the truck, the other the Ranger.

Closer to home I run either a 93 Chevy 3/4 ton, 98 Suburban or my favorite vehicle, the 88 GMC Jimmy. The 93 Chevy is my beater truck for the ranch. It has a home-made bumper/grill guard, flatbed, 454, and Detroit Locker in the rear axle. Great work or hunting truck close to home. The Suburban has leather interior and I added a vinyl floor and grill guard. About 140k original miles. It makes a nice rig for hauling several buddies bird hunting or predator calling. Easy to clean up, plenty of room, decent capability, and comfy.

I found an unbelievable deal on the Jimmy several years back, it was advertised as an S15 instead of a full size after the wife got it in her divorce. I was the first call on it months after it was listed. Only problem was that it was so nice I have a hard time using it as hard as I intended. I added 16" rims w/ 10 ply 285/75 mud tires, the grill guard and rear bumper. It had factory posi trac and was perfect otherwise. It now has about 108k mikes total. I don't take it where I'll have to drive through a lot of brush (Suburban, Ranger, or 93 Chevy can do that) but it goes about anywhere the Ranger does in more open country. I wish they still sold these new, it's an amazingly capable vehicle that still drives down the road nice between spots.

Im going to be trading in my 2010 F150 supercab very soon for something with a little more room in the back that I can still use for a hunting/camping truck, possibly for this. Im leaning towards a 2016 crew cab F150 with the 2.7, vinly floor, leveled, wheels and tires, and the factory rear locker make me think it will be great for a multi-purpose truck.
So lets see everyone elses hunting and/or daily driver rigs. Pics of things you did to it, mods, additions, ect.View attachment 85649

Raptor bed liner works great if you're going to do it yourself.

Thats good to hear. I think in general, they are totally underrated trucks, overshadowed by everyone's love affair with the tundra. (As far as foreign trucks go)
I love my 2014 titan im pushing 120k on it and have only ever had to change the fluids and 2 wheel bearings. The wheel bearings were because i put a super heavy deercatcher bumper on the front. Wemt back to the stock bumper and havent had an issue since

That's what my work truck is. While working in CO a few years ago, I took my company truck to the elkwoods on the Western Slopes. I was pleasantly surprised. The little 2.7 will climb a tree. I had it in some places I shouldn't have and the truck did great!

Traded in the full size on a Tacoma this summer and I’m really happy so far.
