Not sure what your getting at?

My post was regarding threads disappearing and possible selective censorship. Being this place thrives on UNBIASED reviews and opinions from real deal outdoorsmen and women, it seemingly goes against that philosophy when certain things are removed-in this case member opinions that I don't believe broke forum rules. I don't know why certain threads have disappeared, and don't really care. However, I do think it is a slippery slope "if" and I say IF as I don't know for sure, but in the event it was removed for forum members commenting on a backpack that was from a site sponsor-with factual information, that could be the total definition of bias.

Ultimately, I don't care for these wordy arguments on a computer, and don't care enough. Rock on Bro-
You're mistaken, we have said we don't take down our gear reviews. We have taken down all kinds of non-gear review threads for various reasons.

I took it down. They asked me to take it down when they pulled the video. It's not deleted and will be back up when the video is back up.
i think in the context, that was the best option... i watched the video awhile back, and listened to the podcast on my 6hr drive back down south last night and didn't see the thread, but it sounds like it was a shit show... i wasn't tempted to grab the pitchfork watching the video, and if i was on that hunt, i knew i wouldn't have had any better of an outcome (maybe going forward i will, seeing that good shooters are missing fairly easy shots due to the extreme angles i have never practiced myself)

where those critters live, it's almost never a guarantee you'll recover it, even if you pick your opportunities with caution... real world stuff that armchair quarter backs will never understand or tolerate, or ever be in that position... the unfortunate aspect of social media.

most people only take shots that are 100% (even though there is no such thing) never miss, and are the poster children for ethics.... they also don't hunt much or kill anything, or just erase the mishaps they do have. that's what i love about hunting, no matter how hard you work, how much you practice, how selective you are on opportunities, nothing is guaranteed besides being humbled on a regular basis.

easy to criticize on a keyboard, especially if you don't attempt to put yourself in their shoes. a hunt like that introduces a lot of variables exclusive to that type of hunt.

No conspiracy guy here-what I should have said is this place has been around long enough and I don’t believe you folks that run it are dumb enough to destroy the site’s credibility.

I literally wrote numerous times, don’t know why it was pulled, locked whatever-bc I don’t. I realize it could be for many other reasons. My speculation was not an accusation.

I enjoy this place-mostly, except for grown men keyboard fights. My apologies for getting into one.

Speaking of shoot out i think the thread on the 200" ram called the "Duke" who got in a gunfight has also been removed.

Edit: I did not search far enough down to find it, i was wrong.
That’s the one I was thinking of! It wasn’t a goat hunt, my mistake.

I am a nobody, but I feel like locking the comments but allowing the thread to remain viewable would help with context. It has left an outstanding amount of questions for those who haven't seen the thread. Respectfully. The participation or views on that particular thread were Dismal compared to the audience that the podcast just reached.

I thought the video was enjoyable as it was with a whole lot of hullabaloo about nothing from those of us in the peanut gallery.

I watched the video. I’ve never hunted an area where it was possible that an animal may fall into a place where it was impossible to retrieve them. But from the video I can see why they would not go down there to get it, unfortunate they lost the goat but not worth dying over. Also, the fact there was multiple misses, who cares? I’ve missed, and will miss again. I listened to the podcast yesterday and was surprised about the backlash, there’s no room for mistakes or nuance in the court of public opinion I guess. Don’t blame Snyder for not wanting to be on video, bunch of people typing stuff from a thousand miles away that are safe from getting punched in the face, which they might if those words were spoken face to face instead.
I’ve said stupid things on forums, but try not to write anything I wouldn’t say if the person was standing in front of me.

I actually liked the hunt. The missed shots were less than desirable but it happens. The apparent brushing off of the lost goat was the bad part. Not sure if material ended up being cut that would have addressed that better but it needed more screen time. Came here for two, killed two, leaving with one, good times, was the vibe and it didn’t sit particularly well. To a viewer who doesn’t understand goat country it could look careless.

I understand why guys can’t get along with Snyder, he’s polarizing and full of piss and vinegar these days. But y’all were picking on Frank??? Shame on you.

I’m not mad at you Rokslide, I’m just disappointed.

Disappointed in what though? That they didn’t explain fully what happened and why it played out as such? It would have been advantageous to do so to paint the entire picture, but for a large number of people fo behave as though this is some grievous error that should be punished , I just don’t get it. Giving people the benefit of the doubt first and then finding out the reasoning behind actions that you may disagree with at first glance, that should be the way adults interact.
On the subject of removing the thread and video temporarily, I also agree. They needed to make a change with the editing to tel the whole story. That was the main complaint. Watch the full story then comment.
If you’re having an argument with your wife because you didn’t know all the details in the situation would you want to keep referring back to points in the argument after you knew all the details? There’s no logic in that.

I’m a huge fan of kifaru. The folks at Kifaru and their gear has always been been great by me.

The video wasn’t great, they admitted that and they’re addressing it.

What I’m still a little unsure about is they said many times in the podcast the video wasn’t about making money. They said it was just to tell a story of guys on a hunt.

Why would kifaru pay goat hunt money, do a multi media marketing campaign for the release of the video, and put #kifarulife throughout the video if it wasn’t about making money?

When I joined this forum a few years ago, just about every member was trying to Sniff Snyder's jock strap. Today it seems like the entire forum is against him.

Not sure what happened, everyone is entitled to their own opinion......

Disappointed in what though?

Giving people the benefit of the doubt first and then finding out the reasoning behind actions that you may disagree with at first glance, that should be the way adults interact.

This is what happened in your opinion?

I didn’t see the thread. I heard it was a shit show. Doesn’t sound like anyone was given ‘benefit of the doubt’…

That is what I was disappointed in. Not surprised. Disappointed.

Hashtagging their gear when the hunt was paid for by kifaru? That’s what we are griping about now? How many packs would they have to sell off that single video to make up the money kifaru spent for that hunt + production. I am prettty ignorant but seems like a terrible way to make a bunch of money, jeezus people. Sounds like the hunt was a write off and free advertising on the backend. Not exactly a ‘marketing campaign’…

I immediately regret my decision in partaking in this conversation 🤦‍♂️
