Since a poster above mentioned Antifa,
I shall relate this short tale.

I was recently at dinner with “business associate” or perhaps “colleague” is more appropriate, and his wife- who was recently back from Portland. Whilst in Portland she had found occasion to attend a soccer game between the Seattle and Portland soccer teams. Now- apparently Antifa is comprised of some real thorough fans of the game we call soccer- and the Antifa cells in each city all sit together when they attend there respective teams games and they raise quite a racket alll while waving signs and otherwise being a spectacle.

Sooo.... the event was a monumental moment in the History of the organization apparently- when the two cells from nearby cities that each have soccer teams were able to play each other- and so. get this- the two Antifa cells (Portland and Seattle) coordinated to maintain total silence for the first 30 or 31 or 33 minutes (I can’t remember which) and then SIMULTANEOUSLY THEY ALL ERUPTED INTO cheers, or noise of various kinds. She was quite pleased with this. She related the tale as though she had planned the event- referring to the Portland Antifa as “we” though she lives significantly closer to the Boy C than the other.

But anyway- they are really getting things done if sounds like.

BTW the midwestern and southern states grow a lot of food too and feed the world. Typical egocentric attitude that only California grows food.

That is either horrible reading comprehension or intentional misrepresentation. CA grows a large % of the nation's food. The midwest in general has a lot of ag output, but it is largely not food consumed in the US (e.g corn and soybeans).

Thanks to NAFTA, less expensive foreign produce is cheaper to ship to the breadbasket. The majority of California produce goes overseas.
The worlds 5th largest economy will not be hurt in the least if you choose not to buy a couple items or dare venture into any of the tourist locations.

On 2017, $20B of $50B of CA ag was exported. Perhaps our school system which is allegedly over-run by illegals aren't so bad, as even with our new math we know 40% doesn't constitute a majority.

"Over a third of the country's vegetables and two-thirds of the country's fruits and nuts are grown in California."

Yes it fluctuates every year, 2018 was a high export year and 2019 will be a low year due to tariffs on exports. During the economic downturn it was over 60% on some years as american markets opted for cheaper mexican produce and foreign markets(china) exploded ironically some of California's fruits and nuts are status symbols in the east. During that period millions of acres of cotton and rice were replaced with almonds and pomegranates to provide for expanding markets.

Sorry I misused the term majority based on the 2017 data set.
I'll update my post to say "much of the ag grown in california is exported". Or, "some but not most of California's agriculture is/can be exported: foreign markets buy exports on a sliding basis as a result of economic growth, loss and trade agreements." That way folks won't be mislead by my moronic use of majority.

Yeah some guy named Gavin. From what I've read he really worked wonders in Frisco. It should be a massive train wreck seeing what he can do at the state level.
A sheriff's deputy was just shot in Merced county by an illegal alien who should have been deported after an arrest in January. But this being California I'm sure someone will say the deputy had no business trying to detain this foreign national.
Single party rule has turned this place into a nightmare. As AKtrourbum stated, politically this place has become a F'n disaster. But of course this is my opinion and in no way am I trying to speak for everyone.
Doesn’t CA have a really cool new governor?

I was pointing out the hypocrisy of the poster I quoted who won't visit a state based on the declaration of a city council(meaningless) but will shop at a mega outlet who is starting to lean left by restricting the sale of guns and ammo(much more far reaching)

I am the OP so I guess I'm your Huckleberry. Glad you are not alarmed or bothered by SF declaration or their call for other cities and state governments to do the same. I am. There is a purpose behind their declaration and their intent is to attack the NRA(and members) and ultimately limit my(and your) constitutional rights, as they now exist. Their intentions are not 'meaningless'. You need to look behind the curtain, if you care at all.

Companies make business decisions based on a number of economic and political issues. I am sure they want to continue to do business in states like California. I don't have to agree with all of them. Walmart's decision in no way limits my legal rights or ability to purchase guns or ammunition. Or any of my other rights for that matter. Unlike being labeled a "Terrorist".

I don't see any hypocrisy in my opinion or views. Regardless, you do you and I'll do me.

The owner was from Dixon and played football there in High School and nearby in college at UC Davis. He is now deceased and I have no idea who runs the business, but my guess of why they were there and still are is the owners connection to his small home town.
I don't doubt it .

to be honest I would rather see them stay where they are and fight against the policies that bind them, then see them move.(run away)

however if they must run to survive , I am sure my home town would welcome them with open arms.
just putting that out there kuiu!

I buy produce from local ranches, eggs and honey too.
Protein I hunt and fish and supplement with beef and chicken from a ranch 25 miles away, not a stock yard. I gave up the ecological and economic damage of mega stores for a more direct approach.

But that has no bearing on this thread, I was pointing out the hypocrisy of the poster I quoted who won't visit a state based on the declaration of a city council(meaningless) but will shop at a mega outlet who is starting to lean left by restricting the sale of guns and ammo(much more far reaching)

my take is, a store owner should be able to decide what they do or do not sell. same as all can decide wether or not to continue shopping there.
if you support the right of one, then it is only logical to support the right of the other . even if you disagree with their choice , it is their right to do so.

I expect folks to abide by my rules , when under my roof. how can I justify denying others that same right?????????

You'll find a large percentage of lifetime CA's to lean more conservative, especially the further away from the ocean you get. Not all of the CA mess if from natives. For decades CA had the largest number of people moving in from other states. And they weren't coming here to express their conservative values.

In the last three weeks here in Northern California I have loaded my freezer with halibut and tuna and salmon, my son has killed a deer and we shot limits of dove. This weekend I will shoot mountain quail and grouse and catch more trout than I can count. This is all within three hours of my house. Also will kill a couple hundred ducks and geese this year and likely will catch around 50 steelhead. That would be a typical winter. I do love it here... I really wish the lunatic fringe on the left did not define this state so much.

You know- you seem like a pretty legit guy to spend time around a campfire with. Seriously. Just sort of know how to make a conversation really flow.

Hey- between you and me- some of these idiots are real hardcases and you have to really let em have it. Me- I’m a reasonable able guy. You tell me how awesome you think Cali is - and I’ll believe that you think that. You don’t have to convince me. These others might need another shot though

I really do believe you guys that outside major cities and especially up north it is great, I loved the sequoia nat forerst. It was the same in Oregon, just not quite as bad. I feel bad for you lifers that remain there. I was the same in OR, I decided I would never raise my kids there, won't subject them to a liberal system. Unfortunately this madness will absolutely go on for at least another couple decades before there is a political turn around. If you love it there then I am happy for you. It's where you need to be!

I just like the fact that people enjoy living here and want to live here, because it’s one less person who wants to live in (name your preferred state).

--Our cool new gov.--

He did cancel the majority of the crazy train. No repub could have gotten away with that as easily as he did. Other than that he's an abject failure.

What’s he doing with all that federal money he doesn’t want to give back?

I agree this is a bridge too far. The NRA has devolved into a pretty corrupt and possibly criminal organization but they're no more terrorists than ANTIFA. San Fran is looking a little silly right now.
