This is in regards to international grain markets, but it must be happening to other commodities. Our agricultural friends might have better insight.
I was watching a traditional ag report a few weeks ago and it talked a little about Brazil’s production growing by some small number, which seemed odd since other sources say Brazilian farmers are in high gear. The video below was an eye opener and seems to explain why grain traded outside of commodity markets is essentially invisible to the market reports. I didn’t even know what BRICS was a few years ago, but it’s concerning and seems like we should all understand it better.
This is kind of what we’re usually told:

If grain production is growing that slowly, why are other farming inputs in Brazil spiking?
