There is nothing good in Washington. I was born here but my heart is elsewhere. If I could (wife won’t) I would be somewhere between central Idaho and central MT by now.

Sorry to hear of your losses and experiences.

Personally I'd head to Wyoming at this point. All of our states are slowly going to change politically and demographically, sad but true, but it's a matter of time.
I moved here from Alaska and it's probably the best choice, but it's a young man's land. It's hard on everything. And yes, I paid my dues there in the Interior for a long time.

Based in WA, OTC archery public land in AZ, UT, so
hmmm, people follow jobs. Lots of jobs in Boise ID and surrounding area. Not only just Micron and the 15 tech companies based in Boise area that feed off Micron. Here's the growth, these companies represent over 200,000 internal company jobs and that's not counting all the support jobs surrounding, supporting these companies operations. It's not all non residents swelling pursuits in the great outdoors but rather NEW residents.

We've already gone over the fact that there's more residents in Idaho now buying tags. That has nothing to do with NR tags selling out. I work in Boise all the time, a small percentage of new residents I talk to are working for any of those companies you listed. A large number of new residents come to the area because of the "lifestyle". It's the first thing they mention, right before they talk about how backwards Idaho is with its conservative views. They need to keep those garbage ideals on the west coast where they belong.

And all the YTubers, podcasts, internet sites Etc, That have touted for years that IDAHO is THE place for OTC elk. And the best fall back, last resort elk plan. Like CO 18 years ago went thru, just less social media influence back then.
What isn’t expected? No surprise here!

look at the growth of Web informational podcasts, Amazon Prime outdoor show features. These shows bring in their Income bucks$$$ in the name of promoting elk hunting. What they really promote are their Own bank accounts swelling from YTube $ and sponsor ships $$$.
Take away all the money and my guess is very, very few would be selling their souls for free.

OYOAdventures used to be my fave interest. Not so much anymore under new branding, sponsor ships,

all this growth elk hunting interest has ruined Non Resident opportunity!
resulting in so many non-res restrictions, I can’t draw Archery bull elk tags for the last 11 years. When 12 years ago I could buy tag from local store or draw NM bull tag every 2 years as non resident.

So being one of the many who missed the otc tags, will there be another chance to grab an A tag or are they long gone for the year?

Outfitter tags that aren't sold by Aug 1st go in to the pool for SECOND tags, but unless you can snag a returned tag the OTC A and B tags are gone for the year

For all intents and purposes, they are gone. Unused outfitter tags or returns are your only hope.

So if someone drew good tag and wanted to turn in an otc, there will be a date to attempt picking one of those up?

2nd and 4th Thursdays of every month the returned tags go on sale. I haven't seen any listed since the first one they had in April.

Agree
As much as I enjoy a few (not all) of the online videos/pod casts, they haven't helped my elk hunting... Last 2 yrs have run into more out of state archery guys than Idaho residents in our OTC unit

That narrows down which unit you're in

should be quite a few tags starting this tuesday going forward as the people who drew tags and had already bought tags will be returning to the pool

With the amount of demand still for tags, I would imagine it will be very difficult still as the amount of available NR tags going forward through the return process will be minimal when you look at the big picture. There will be a couple here or there but I would imagine a lot of people are going to be heading to Colorado
