Maybe I'm doing the math wrong but a threaded Tikka is $1200-$1300, plus $500-700 for the Rokstock
Whereas a Seekins PH2 is $1500 when its on sale.
And the Seekins is made right down the road in Idaho.

A T3x Lite stainless is $860 or so. Have a smith chop and thread it for $200’ish- you’re in ID, so Unknown Munitions. That’s $1,100’ish. Add a $500 stock if you want and have a lighter, more reliable, more shootable rifle for $100 more.

Under $700 for a stainless tikka T3x light right now when figuring in the $75 rebate. Call it $150 to have it threaded. $40 for a 5/8" adapter. $500 for rokstock. $1350ish total. I'd place odds on the seekins shooting a little tighter than a factory tikka barrel but could easily go either way.

Don't let the group-think scare you off.

Nothing wrong with a Tikka....but Seekins makes a badazz rifle that typically shoots into little knots with the best customer service in the business on the off chance you need it.

The 700 trigger "shortcomings" are grossly overblown in this thread as well as the other imho. Don't throw your rifle in a creek in sub-zero temps and you'll likely be fine....especially with the aftermarket versions. I MIGHT have hunted inclimate weather a day or two these last 30 years of hunting Idaho with nary a failure.
