Even though he roasted us too, that was epic!!
Looks like Desert Dog has also entered the chat. Watch till the end.
These guys like JVB are a joke. So close minded. If you disagree with them you must be stupid. No room for discussion. I truely believe if you are intelligent you realize the more you learn, the less you really know.
Who is steve speck?Full disclosure- I didn't listen to either of JVB's podcasts, and will not as I'm not giving him a click. So I'm taking my info from this thread.
It appears this is becoming a "You can fool the fans, but you can't fool the players" situation. In my opinion, it was a big mistake to try to undermine Steve Speck's recent hunts. Differing opinions I can tolerate, but when someone discounts actual experiences with vague theories it really strikes against their credibility. This is all playing out for him in his podcast studio, accompanied only by adoring fan letters, but it's not going to go so well in an honest discussion.
I still believe that this pushback against Rokslide and Shoot2Hunt may have roots in his scope sponsor, especially with Caylens recent comments, knowing they are both Leupold sponsored. Leupold has taken a credibility hit from the drop tests, and its only a Google search away for their customers. It would not surprise me in the least if they are pushing some buttons in the background, with the goal of casting doubt on Rokslide, Shoot2Hunt, and those associated with them.
You got to come out of the basement if you want to be in the knowWho is steve speck?
Is there a cheat sheet for who is the in-crowd in hunting?
Owner of EXO Mountain Gear (EXO Packs) and has "The Hunt Backcountry Podcast" with another guy. He is a member and sponsor of this forum known as @S&S ARCHERY who shares his adventures with his packs while hiking and hunting. They had Form on their podcast and now JVB has beef with them for discussions that were had on "The Hunt Backcountry Podcast".Who is steve speck?

Good synopsis. I would also add, recently was a part of a couple moose and a couple caribou kills with a 6 CM, with excellent results.Owner of EXO Mountain Gear (EXO Packs) and has "The Hunt Backcountry Podcast" with another guy. For sure. It’s just interesting that a guy would choose to die on the small calibers don’t work hill when there is so much evidence to the contrary. I think the best way to prove someone wrong is try their methods and report back. For example if wanted to prove the little calibers don’t work crowd wrong I would take a small gun and shoot an animal in the boiler room and film it walking away like nothing happened. I think that would be better than scolding people in a podcast.Yeah,…that door swings both ways. Anyone that isn’t shooting a 6mm (or smaller) Tikka barreled action dropped into a Rokstok with a Maven scope, UM rings, and a suppressor gets rewarded with condescension at best and open ridicule at worst on this site.
And before you make any assumptions, let me assure you I was killing chit with TMKs long before most of you had ever heard of them.
No they don't, stop being ridiculous. Only people that act like X cartridge is needed or that they can shoot a magnum all day long just as good/better than a small caliber and other attitudes like that is what gets mocked.Yeah,…that door swings both ways. He comes off as wildly insecure with a huge ego.I can't help but find some sort of irony in that JVB was on Exo's podcast years ago and now that his ideas have fallen out of favor, he's shit talking them.
That's what I would expect from a guy who presents himself in person with a fake name.He comes off as wildly insecure with a huge ego.
I used to listen to JVB's podcasts regularly when he would mainly discuss cartridge history, firearms history, and the like. Then he started going pretty heavy with Spomer and I had enough. Spomer seems like a decent guy but he is factual wrong so often that I just can't listen to him. Then the AVB situation went down last year and JVB started deleting episodes where he spoke about some of the stupid sh!t his brother had done. He became pretty cringe to me after that and I unsubscribed from his show on all platforms. Now he's beefing with the piss-ants, the Formie's, and Steve 'n the Boys over at EXO. He's denounced small calibers more than he denounced his own brother's involvement in '23 BOAL incident. His credibility continues to dwindle after every incident he becomes involved in.I can't help but find some sort of irony in that JVB was on Exo's podcast years ago and now that his ideas have fallen out of favor, he's shit talking them.
