The fact that this is even a topic that spurred a thread on this forum is laughable. Some people have too much time on their hands.

He sold controlling interest of “Meateater” to the Chernin Group, a large well known anti gun organization. So all the lemmings that support Stevie Boy are funding those that are trying to take away your weapons and freedoms. Cutting your own throats as it were. Probably will be a recipe in his new cookbook that can be yours for the low price of $99.99; personalized autographed copies only $399.99 with that extra portion going to the destroy the 2nd amendment fund. The more popular Steve is, the more money the antis get. Steve got his millions though so he will be fine…Cancer on hunting? How so. I've always loved his show, really liked his book on buffalo.

It is a fact that Rinella is anti-gun and anti- 2A. All the animals on his show are darted and released after filming. The meat they cook is plant based medium purchased from California and Seattle and then made to look like meat. Just sayin'.I was watching the episode where Rinella goes elk hunting with Jason Phelps from Phelps game calls.
Noticed that Jason had an empty holster on his hip the entire time.
Anyone know what’s up with that? I know that Rinella isn’t the biggest gun guy from prior comments.
Steve: I agree in principle but Cherin is not the only entertainment group against gun ownership. Hollywood and pro-gun ownership just doesn't mix. If that is going to be your criteria for entertainment choices you might as well put your television in the dumpster. It's like trying to buy an iphone not made in China. No way.He sold controlling interest of “Meateater” to the Chernin Group, a large well known anti gun organization.
Lars Ulrich was a big Hillary supporter, so no Metallica if you want to feel good.Steve: I agree in principle but Cherin is not the only entertainment group against gun ownership. I guess you could just download only Randy Newberg shows and Ted Nugent or Metallica music and feel good about not supporting anti-gun groups. I still like an occasional WWII or sword fighting movie.
I guess that confirms my point. It's tough to make choices. I was basing my comment on an interview with James HetfieldLars Ulrich was a big Hillary supporter, so no Metallica if you want to feel good.
I think if you go too deep on anything you will find some level of any organization that is anti something you like. Yeah, we can make choices not to support stuff we don't agree with, but you probably are just cutting off your nose to spite your face. If you like his show, watch it. If you don't, don't.Wow just googled it sad
I wonder if Steve can/will leave MeatEater and start something else. No doubt his show radically changed the hunting show genre.

Right, I can agree with most people (like his brother) that feel like R3 is mostly wasted dollars at this point.I don't think there is anybody that has done more to remove some of the stereotypes of blood thirsty, beer drinking, can shooting rednecks more than Rinella. His introspective style of narration combined with a reverence for wild things and wild places does wonders to bridge the divide between those who are pro and anti hunting. He has the ability to make a sensible argument about why we do what we do and has the medium to broadcast it. Just my 2 bits.

Recreational outrage, as it were. People are going to find something to complain about.The hunt for drama and conflict .
Hey Fitz: I'm confused by your comments directed at me. Apparently you are confused also.Recreational outrage, as it were. People are going to find something to complain about.
@LostArra -
If people are going to accuse Meateater of being a cancer to public land hunting or hunting in general (which is a bit of a stretch to say the least), then I hate to think what those same people think about Randy Newberg (Matt Rinella probably loathes Randy even more than his brother). Randy has also stated that he doesn't watch shows/movies that glorify gun violence (but maybe that's more a statement about people who make millions of dollars off of these movies then turn around and rally against gun ownership).
I remember a phrase that I heard sometimes as a kid that sums up the M E'r situation.I have only watched a handful of Meat Eater shows over the years, but I generally enjoyed them. I guess I don't understand the infighting amongst big game hunters. Aside from his Michigan accent, why all the vitriol for Rinella?
