Noticed that too, thought it was odd. I’d bet he just didn’t see the need and was too lazy to take it off.
Ahh I thought you meant he had personally replied to you asking and stated no guns allowed on the show but that he didn't want to screw with removing his holster.Maybe Jason didn’t feel the need. I don’t think Steve had a thing to do with it.
What part of it can't you relate to? Not attacking, just asking. I've only scratched the surface of the negatives that some posters have of ME. I enjoy it and relate, but everyone is different.I dont remember the last time I watched M E'r.
I just cant relate anymore.
In California If you are archery hunting for deer with an archery only tag it doesn’t matter if you are hunting during the general season, you can’t carry a firearm. If you are hunting for deer during the general season with a general season tag and decided to use a bow, you can carry a firearm. There is no archery season for bear so you can carry both. For elk, you can carry a sidearm during archery season, this was changed a few years ago.You can carry a gun while archery hunting deer too if it’s during a rifle season. Is there an archery only part of the general bear season? I meant during an archery only tag. I think some states let you carry a gun during archery only elk and deer seasons but I don’t know.
Interesting about the pack. I don't want to highjack this thread so I'll probably start another post on the pack/equipment topic. But the big thing from that episode…Steve was using an EXO pack.
There you have it gentlemen, take it from here…
Yes there is. Archery bear season runs concurrent with archery deer season, during the archery bear season you can carry a sidearm if you are hunting bear. You can carry a gun while archery hunting deer too if it’s during a rifle season. I have bear and deer tags on me all the time and carry a handgun during archery season. There's more lions than deer in the mountains. We basically breed them . Even if I just had a deer tag I'd carry a handgun, but the bear tag makes it seem more "legit" since it's a written law I guess haha.Yes there is. Archery bear season runs concurrent with archery deer season, during the archery bear season you can carry a sidearm if you are hunting bear.
.Now if you were hunting bear and deer at the same time that might be an issue depending on what game Warden you come across.
Oops, my bad. Thanks for the correction.Yes there is. Archery bear season runs concurrent with archery deer season, during the archery bear season you can carry a sidearm if you are hunting bear.

He said no guns allowed on the show and no reason for him to remove his holster from his belt.
Probably a NM rule

Is it possible Phelps didn't feel like he needed a handgun on the hunt, but also didn't feel the need to remove his holster? I don't generally move things on and off my pack unless there's a real good reason, i.e. I often wear empty hipbelt pouches.
Same. And the most likely explanation.FWIW I often have a empty holster on my pack belt because I don’t always feel the need to carry a handgun and I don’t take the time (it’s a pain to remove) to take my holster off.
Yes for example I have my stone glacier bear spray holster and my kifaru gun sling last week when I went bird hunting and used neither. Just too lazy to take it off....Is it possible Phelps didn't feel like he needed a handgun on the hunt, but also didn't feel the need to remove his holster? Maybe it's tied in to his waist belt in a way that it's easier to leave it empty than to go through the trouble of removong it?NM archery elk hunt.
If that was the case, why bring the holster?
Cancer on hunting? How so. I've always loved his show, really liked his book on buffalo. If you Google “Steve Rinella” and click “images” you will see Mr. Meat with a plethora of “guns” being held in his very own hands. He has companies that he partners with to sell “guns” with his name on them.
The better question would be who cares what that cancer to hunting says?
