After attempting to remove the direct thread hub on my nomad and nearly pulling a muscle..... I think maybe I'll just leave it in factory config. I'm feeling a little too lazy and cheap to mess with it haha

I tested mine out for the first time today on my 16" 223. I shot 1 shot with the scythe and 1 with the nomad without hearing protection and couldn't tell a difference. Maybe more testing is needed, but I don't care much. Scythe is plenty quiet and I'm sure this is quieter.... And stronger.

Thought this could be useful for somebody seeing this thread. The DA DT hub is a bit heavy. I replaced it with an ultralight from C&S in Colorado Springs. Saved about 1/2 without the wrench flat too, hopefully that doesn't bite me later. Might add some anti seize but don't really plan on removing it anyway.

You have to tell him to take out more metal because you want it as light as possible. Tell him what you want and he'll make it for you. He made an m15x1 for my goofy Tikka thread pattern.

That is awesome. So yours is nearly the same as using a sico scythe flush DT, right? It looks like you might only have 1/8" or less of extra length

There's almost no extra length, that flat spot is tiny maybe 1/16" if I'm guessing but I can measure after work tomorrow. It saves at least 3/8" over the factory Nomad DT hub, maybe 1/2".

Couldn't tell ya, we just emailed a bit back and forth. He's super responsive over email and told me he was about to run a batch of adapters so if I wanted one quickly to go ahead and order. He made mine the next day and sent it pretty quickly after.

The Tikka is a 20" Roughtech Superlight 6.5 CM from EuroOptic, the ones on sale for $950 which I may have discovered the reason why they're on sale lol. It's my first Tikka so didn't think to check what thread pattern it had just ASSumed it would be 5/8".
