What is so funny to me is the double dealing and hypocrisy involved for each of these types of electric production. The chicken littles of climate change constantly talk out of both sides of their faces. This ain’t an issue of climate change. When the head of the fed literally brings up green energy and the need to shift from petroleum to wind and solar, you know it’s NOT about solving an problem, it’s about power.
An example:
France is smaller than texas yet has 53 nuclear power plants. The vast majority of electric in France is from nuclear.

The US is 17x the size of france, has 5x the population and we only have 90 reactors.
When is the last time anyone worried about meltdowns in france?
Here’s an interesting graphic from BC

Do some fun math… to replace 1 hydro dam, it’s 30,000,000 square meters of solar panels. That’s 11 square miles.
Q: How many new reactors are we building in the US?
A: 2
See the scam?
1- Install dams to leverage the free energy from running water! Take out dams to save hatcheries, reduce flooding, and create whitewater recreational areas
2- Install wind turbines to leverage the free energy of the wind! Don't install turbines becuase they kill raptors and disrupt bird migration flyways
3- Install solar panels to leverage the free energy from the sun! Don't install solar panels because solar farms and concentrators kill birds and endanger ecosystems.
4- Install nuclear power plants to harness the ginormous output of the atom. Don't install nuclear powerplants, becuase of Chernobyl, 3-Mile Island, and issues with disposing of radioactive waste.
5- Expand drilling and build more oil refineries to leverage the planet's oldest and most reliable energy source! Wait... Nobody is suggesting that. Associated "man-made" climate change is going to flood the earth and give us all skin cancer.
You can't suggest any type of power production without a contradicting environmental argument. I can tell you living in Iowa (2nd highest wind producer) the wind turbines are taking over the landscape and skyline without delivering any out of pocket savings to Iowans. The latest proposal I heard was the Mid-American is generating so much power with them they want to install a mega underground circuit to provide power to Chicago. Certainly a private utility couldn't leverage imminent domain to snatch private property for such a for-profit venture could they? If the wind business is so good and they have so much energy they can export to other states, wouldn't you think they'd give their customers a discount? LOL!!!
AND THEN THERE IS CARBON DIOXIDE CAPTURE. There is an outfit pitching a proposal to install a piplein across Iowa that would transport CO2 captured from ethanol plant emissions and safely store it underground somewhere in the Dakotas. What in the world is going on folks?
