Bass Pro/Cabela’s Price Match

@Silverback_, thanks for posting this thread. It made me dig out the gift cards I have been given over the years and swing by the local BassPro Shops. I saved $8 a box (Scheels price match) + 5% on the last two boxes of 44 cal 240 gr Hornady XTPs they had on the shelf.

If you get a price match at Bass Pro - go buy a lottery ticket!
I'm not saying they invented 'The old bait and switch" but they sure put a lot of energy into it.

While they advertise "price match", they make sure of otherwise, and their employees know it.

They buy enough product, to have the manufacturer change one tiny, little, insignificant thing, and then only sell it to them, in that way.

So.... when you go in for the price match - the employee will deny it, and not know why. Then say (and I've had this happen twice), "I have to find the difference". On both occasions, the employee had to get his boss, 'to help find the difference'. Boss looked and looked, went in the office, finally came back and then - Whalla. The gun stock is a minuscule shade different than the competitor, or the pellet smoker comes with "a free extra grate" only at Bass pro, of coarse. So... not like, for like.

This used to be my go-to for all things outdoors. Now the local hardware store, or gas station, has better value and quality items. So, sad.

I seem to be buying a lot of stuff at the local Bass Pro lately.
I am a cheap bastard and always look for the best deal.
Now I do get the mil discount so 10% or 5% I don't know how to get the discount for in store purchases as I have only done online orders.
Pre Black Friday deal was 9mm ammo Herters brand which is made by Winchester ended up being $205 for 1k after my mil discount. I then bought discounted gift card online which came out to $180 for $200 worth and they had a 15% rebate on top of that, so end cost is like $150 for a case of 9mm.

I will be buying doing the same as they carry powder and bullets at reasonable prices before the discounts.

Guess I never used the old discount. I cannot complain about 10% all year for most anything and 5% all year for firearms and ammo. My nearest store is about 45 minutes one way so I tend to be slow on those purchases unless I can do it online safely. I cannot complain about 10% off on a Nightforce scope with the points to my NavyFed card.
I would go right to Nightforce to see about their mil discount. If they are anything like Leupold it's more than 10% and you would still get your points
