Interesting feedback on the customer service.
I guess I had seen a few grumblings, but haven't paid much attention, and I didn't know issues were that common.

so as far as small-ish hunting suppressors
Hyperion K
Q Half Nelson
Nomad Ti
TBAC Dominus?

Anything else close to (at least the published specs) the banish backcountry?
I'd definitely go with the Hyperion K or Ti, the Q isn't as quiet from all reports I've heard.
Im a big fan of direct thread for precision bolt guns, the dominus will be heavier and longer with the CB mount setup

Checking back in - already got my Form 4/Trust docs from SC and signed before I even got fingerprint kit in the mail, which is pretty impressive. Did finally recieve a call back this AM from my sales guy - there was a bit of confusion over who I was assigned to in their system sounded like. All squared away now.

Obviously jury is still out on form 4 submission timeline and all of the shipping stuff once released. One thing I have heard their main guy say a few times is there process has some specific deviations they applied for and were granted through ATF, whatever that means. So far, the convenience seems pretty spot on.

They did ship directly from SD to my buddy who lives in a different state.
Doubtful, the return address will be from Maddox industries (silencer central) but it absolutely went through an in state dealer.

Lets stick to facts rather than emotions here. IF you dont like SC, cool, but lets not make up fairy tales.

Maybe that's just to get them to AK?? I really have no idea...

But I do know that I followed the tracking on mine and it was never logged into any other recipients besides USPS hubs and shipping facilities.

And I don't dislike SC, for the record. They did what they said they'd do....I knew it would take some extra time based on research I had done.

I'd choose TBAC ultra5, 5" can at 6oz. Perfect for a mountain gun.

Take a look at capitol armory for purchases, much better CS than SC from the looks of it.

I’m curious to get the unbiased sound reports. SC is reporting 135db for 308 at shooters ear. Pretty sure ultra 5 Gen II has that beat for about same cost, shorter, and roughly same weight.

Don't take this as me defending them because I have no love for them, they just have a system that works well for me and I am sure they have far more happy customers than disgruntled ones. In the research I've done and interviews I have listened to they comply with state and federal laws wherever they operate and have for whatever been granted some leeway by the ATF in some areas. People claiming that they are going to get busted by the ATF for buying

I ordered a Banish 30 and a 22 from them and it got processed almost immediatly, like a day after I made the order. There were no issues with the process at all. In the end it does get annoying when they tell you that you are all good to go and then it takes (for me) about 10-14 days to get it. Would it be cool if it was in the mail immedietly ??? absolutely.

The process worked well enough for me that I used them again for a TBAC 7 and a mask 22. There was a short hold up with both cans as they actually had to recieve them from the manufacturers, this was about 5 days on the TBAC and about 2 weeks on the mask. Yes, it adds some extra time but I don't have to fly to Anchorage, rent cars, check into hotels and deal with trashy city BS to get a silencer. It saves me a lot of stress and money to just get them on order and forget about them. Now hopefully the efile goes faster than that paper file.

Agreed! Their system worked great for me too! And I'm not doubting any of that....I don't even know or care which, if any, ATF regs they'd (or I'd) be worried about having them send it to me. It's all silly to have to jump thru those hoops for a metal tube. I could acquire much "scarier" items in a day that no one would even know about....

They have my money, I have my suppressor.

And now that I have one, a second wait wouldn't be nearly as tough. I'd likely use them again if only for the convenience.

The reason they can ship them to your house is they have an in state FFL in every state. It has to go to them and then to you. Takes longer and I wish they would require a signature, but it works.

The second time is even easier, they keep all of your photos and fingerprints on file so you dont need to deal with that again. I got my secod 2 completely through text, didn't even have to call and now they can get silencers from pretty much any manufacturer.

Don’t think CA sells the banish series. SC owns that I believe. So May take that option off the table.

Yes, and also consider the proven track record in TBAC vs banish. IMO there is no comparison.

There's no real magic with suppression numbers among any of the established baffle cone suppressors.
Volume wins period

AB Raptor 6?

My 8 is really nice, but a shorter one would be nice for bushwhacking.

Understand that. Which is weird that SC publishes a louder reading at the ear with its .7” longer and .1” wider can (45.8ci vs 35ci so about 20% more volume) then tbacs. Tbac is known for doing fairly unbiased testing as well.

Like I said, be good to have some independent reports. Hoping the banish outperforms what SC advertises since it has more volume.

The gun writer JVB (his podcast is Backcountry Hunting, he's been on the Exo one before as well) that it did "pretty darn well" for the size compared with the bigger more tactical focused stuff when I messaged him about it, as he had shot it with 7 PRC I understand.

I'm not expecting anything crazy given the size/volume, 762 is right of course, V matters.

I have a couple on order. I’m a suppressor virgin so I’m really just learning about suppressors. I thought the backcountry sounds like a good fit for my hunting setups. We’ll see

SC called me within 2 hours of submitting a question on this can.

Since taking my order, I’ve been waiting 2 damn days for a call back. Literally have a direct line to the salesman that took my order. And then crickets when I leave them a VM post sale, and email. Not off to a great start.
I had a good experience on a Banish 30, and will get one of these. I have had follow up immediately on any question. As with any job once a salesman makes a sale, they usually turn it over to Customer Service. Not sure why you haven't got a call back unless you are using a private cell number and the person is out of town (probably hunting ;)

Here is the CS number at SC- 605-610-8898 option 2 will answer immediately

Is this thread about the Banish Backcountry or Silencer Central’s customer service?
Correct me if I’m wrong but don’t they manufacture the supressor? If that is accurate (I am not 100% it is) and you have to order through then I’d argue both.
