Correct me if I’m wrong but don’t they manufacture the supressor? If that is accurate (I am not 100% it is) and you have to order through then I’d argue both.

Well, that would be news to me and explain a lot of this thread.

I'm on my 2nd silencercentral purchase, no complaints here. Possibly a few bad salespeople in the bunch?
Seems like a no brainer to buy a tbac ultra 5 over sc backcountry to me.

My Banish 30 has been excellent. You can take the front couple of inches off to get it down to 7 inches, and it's just a few ounces heavier than the Backcountry Hunter model if I read the specs correctly. Obviously louder to shoot at 7 inches than 9. I had a great experience with them, had all my questions answered. Took the feds about 10 months to process my app, but this was around 2 years ago and I think they are doing it faster now. My 2 cents.

Interesting feedback on the customer service.
I guess I had seen a few grumblings, but haven't paid much attention, and I didn't know issues were that common.

so as far as small-ish hunting suppressors

TBAC Dominus?

Anything else close to (at least the published specs) the banish backcountry?
The AB raptor is lighter, comes in about any length you want and and likely has better suppression. Cheaper to.

I like the reflex, too. I opted for the 3” reflex with my Raptor 8. As others have stated, more internal volume leads to more sound attenuation.

The Raptor 6 only adds 5.5” to the end of the barrel. With the 3” Reflex, would be pretty good.

sounds like quite few have ordered the backcountry, looking forward to hearing how they do.

Where are y'all getting the AB suppressors? I don't think silencer shop carries them. Are you getting a local dealer to order it?

I ordered mine through Caliber Club in Prescott. Had it shipped to an FFL with a Silencer Shop kiosk to complete everything.

Have you received the AB? Curious what length and reflex length you went with and how it sounds compared to other. It’s an interesting idea and my old local shop pushed them hard. But not convinced yet.

Oh yeah. I’ve had it since August. Went with the 8 and the 3” reflex. It’s pretty quiet. It’s hilarious when I’m at the range and someone is shooting a .300WM with a brake on it, then my .260 lets out a little “plink!”

As I’ve said previously in this thread, I’d order another, but in the 4 or 6 size to use with my 270. My 260 has an 18” barrel, so the Raptor 8 is fine on that, but my 270 has a 22” barrel, so it would add too much length for mountain hunting here in the PNW.

But I’ve also been thinking about getting one where the baffles aren’t welded to the serialized part, just in case of a baffle strike.

I also ordered mine through the same NFA FFL I have used in the past, and he set it up through silencershop on his back end. More or less same process as any silencer shop purchase.

I went with the 6 baffle on my 18" barrel. In the mountains I actually opt not to used the reflex, just direct thread. But I'll spin the reflex on if I'm not counting ounces in the pack. Have to re-zero though.

The rep at AB that I talked to said they'd fix stupid once, and warranty anything on their end for life. I don't know how they'd fix a baffle strike with a welded suppressor though.

I’m thinking about getting a Backcountry. I have two Banish 30’s and a Banish 22. I just sent one of the 30’s in for warranty work on something that was totally my fault. I sent it on Monday and had it back in my hands the following Monday! They fixed it no questions asked and I was super impressed with the customer service. I’d recommend them to anyone.

I’ve got a banish 30 and a 22 also, I think I’ll order a back country.

This is a list of the silencers I have that I’ve tried on my 22” 6.5 prc .
-Q half Nelson
-Hyperion K
-Harvester 30
-Harvester evo
The Hyperion K is noticeably the quietest and has the most pleasant tone but I run the EVO on it because it’s a smaller OD and slightly shorter . I got the Hyperion K for $750 I believe off gun broker and the EVO for $600 with a free 22 silencer .
All that being said I’m still looking at going smaller with the otter creek hydrogen K for $740. It’s listed at 6.7 ounces and 5” .

Seems like Rugged Alaskan 360 Ti could be on these lists, but isn't well liked here. Does anyone have a comment? Seems about as small and light as is out there and they have a great warranty.

Wasn’t that just announced? Nobody has experience with it yet. Seems like a great option and has my interest.
