Anyone have a tricked out .22 pistol they hunt squirrels with.

I have a tactical im want to modify with an Tbac 22 on the way.
Any of you try out the maddmacs uppers?
Cost more than chopping your stock upper but you will have an extra.
He has one with a 2 inch barrel I believe and I’m cut how reliable they are.I have volquersten recommended a no shorter than a 3.5 inch barrel.

Will likely be getting out with my Ruger MK IV 5.5 Blued Hunter later this season. Just bought the VQ Ruger modified barrel cut and threaded at 3..5 inches with sights--look in the clearance section. Thinking the short threaded barrel will be a good host for a suppressor down the line

I see most of the 22/45's are of the lite variety...
Other than weight, is there a reason to choose this over the tactical?

The advantage I see to for the tact is I can mount a light on the bottom rail for back yard critter extermination at night...

I use a Browning Buckmark for hare and grouse, squirrels are to small here. With my old eyes I'm going to have to put different sights on it, haven't decided on a scope or a dot.

Posted this in the grouse gun thread. Love the styled rds mount

Got a call from the gunsmith, he has the Volquartsen trigger kit in my 22/45 Lite. I'm looking forward to a 2.5lb trigger so the dot doesn't move around so much when I'm trying to squeeze the trigger. I hope to get time to pick it up today.
