I certainly hope you are right.I don't see 50 votes in the Senate supporting anti-gun legislation.

There was an US assault weapons ban for 10 years (1994-2004) and the result was no catastrophic in terms of gun ownership or effective in terms of firearm homicides. It's because they have never lost anything or had to go without. Only when they reach for those things lost will they realize what they had.
The real question is; why are they so enthralled with wanting a complete disarmament, other than free reign to impose whatever they wish?
So, if no civilian is allowed to have certain firearms, why does anyone in law enforcement need them as well? The threat is neutralized at that point, correct?
They only reason you’re here is because this “impacts” you, your ideals, what you care about. Are you on the gay and lesbian rights forum causing a pissing match....nope, cause it doesn’t impact you. I guarantee you’re not on any forums or preaching for, or donating to any cause that you don’t care about....maybe you can prove me wrong?
We can disagree and that’s fine, but I would be in favor of background checks for all gun purchases. To me it’s common sense, to you, it’s not. My opinion. Differing opinions are ok

Law abiding citizens lost the right to own certain semi-automatic firearms because of how they looked not how they functioned with no effect on firearm homicides. Do laws like this make sense when we already have laws on the books that make it illegal for criminals to own firearm's?There was an US assault weapons ban for 10 years (1994-2004) and the result was no catastrophic in terms of gun ownership or effective in terms of firearm homicides.
40 years ago if you said I don't see 50 votes for anti-gun legislation in the Senate people would have said 50 vote I don't see 20 votes. It's a slippery slope we are on and it will happen unless we take a stand. Maybe not this year or in 10 years but our kids and grandkids will have to live with it because of our inaction. If we stood together and told our legislators, both sides of the isle, we will not support them if they support anti-gun legislation this would end. But the anti-gun people have a game plan of divide and conquer and they are slowly winning.I don't see 50 votes in the Senate supporting anti-gun legislation.
The Dems used all their political clout on Obamacare 2008-2010. Guns weren't as high on the priority list as trying to socialize medicine. Then in the 2010 mid-terms they got hammered and lost the house. Also there may not be the votes in the Senate to pass any anti-gun legislation.
Obama had a majority in the Senate, House and Supreme court for the first 2 years and there were not enough votes back then...even with 3 majorities of Democrats.
Who’s to say they won’t be behind some kind of shooting just to get the policy’s they want.No one knows until the legislation is presented. Most anti gunners have expressed that they want an Australian style buyback program that would make all possession illegal.
My guess is that most politicians will say that is a step too far so they will try to enact some sort of grandfather clause. however a few years down the road after the next shooting happens because they have done nothing to change the school system or mental health that they will then say that they haven't done enough to stop the wave of gun violence and then call for a turn in.
Just because there on here and like to hunt doesn’t mean they are not totally ignorant or like my father in law who is a life long retired military, and loves to kill deer on my place. He is % not for ar15s and just can’t believe why anyone would want one.Well hes a smart guy but his dad was a red dog democratic and he honestly is just to stubborn to even think about watching fox or voting anything but democratic. To me that’s the definition of politically ignorant. He dont care because he uses a bolt action, but I bet if shit hit the fan he would be grabbing one of my ARs,he also lives in ne Oklahoma were we are mainly dependent on n gas and coal for our power but is blinded because he’s out of the work force. He’s a old timer and can’t stand illegals but there not to bad were he lives.yet.Do you see a pattern. No kidding, but there are plenty on here that did. "Nuance" and all that stupid BS.
I disagree, the climate has changed but the Democrats are way more divided now. You might even see one or two change parties over the next four year.
Damn right, fight hard!Registration leads to confiscation.
I have a little over a year to turn in my AR to the Canadian government or become a criminal.
In Canada ARs were considered restricted which means to buy one you need a special license (RPAL-Restricted Possession and Acquisition License) and it must be registered. In the thread I started last May about the Canadian gun bans https://www.rokslide.com/forums/threads/sad-day-for-canadian-gun-owners.169293/ you can read up on what happens when you have registered firearms. Basically, they know I have it so I have to turn it in. Anything else that was not registered but banned can either be turned in or not taken out since if you are caught with it, you are screwed.
Fight hard.
Registration eventually leads to confiscation.
Biden/Harris cultists sure hate Guns it seems.Yeah, I’ve seen some of that and it’s nutz and I’m definitely against it.
I’m referring only to your basic background check. Background, and what I’m referring to:
I know a dude who has about 8 DUI’s, has been admitted to the psych ward, isn’t permitted to own a firearm by law, and he has purchased long guns at gun shows. This MF has threatened to kill people and has been arrested for it, but yet, he can go to a gun show and buy a long gun. Shouldn’t be able to happen. Yeah yeah yeah, I know he could go buy one illegally on the street or somewhere or whatever, but the system is too easy.

In a vacuum I don't disagree with you, but in the real world I do. How it may or may not affect you isn't so much the point. Conceding the issue gives the anti-gun contingent a win and momentum for that next thing that might affect you. This is not about compromise.Tell me how completing a background checks affects you.

Every gun show I’ve attended the past 15 years in 5 states required background checks. There have been a number of anti gun reporters and politicians. That have gone gun shows in an attempt to buy firearms and not fill out a 4473. Everyone was denied and were exposed for their lies. This is just fake news by the uneducated anti gun progressives. If you know he has firearms and personally witnessed him purchasing firearms at gun show ( I think you’re just making up this nonsense) why didn’t you report him to the police? Sounds like you’re the problem not law abiding citizens .
Democrats % voted to impeach Trump, not a single dissenting vote. Even those fools recognize unity towards the objective of destroying conservatism, even if it was a forgone conclusion in a Kangaroo court . I can see the spineless dems that ride on the surburban soccer moms vote easily caving to the socialist megaphone toting women in the party. Personally I think if the people don’t stand up NOW and somehow organize and resist, forum’s like this may be eliminated before 4 years has passed. At what point do you think the constant attacks on stupid gun toting white privileged racist redneck men like myself stop? They are just about ready to start tightening the noose around our kinds neck from where I see it at the bottom.

This is exactly what we need to be doing. Put our money where our mouth is, write/call our lawmakers from both parties. Make your voice heard. Peacefully protest at your state capitol. Dont be quiet but dont be antifa either. Exhaust every peaceful avenue to protect our rights.I would suggest we all join a pro-gun organization or five. Be in constant communication with your state/federal lawmakers.
Get an FFL, take or teach classes on firearms and take a non-gun owner to the range with you.
I have lots of redneck friends, they are not all white.... But I promise you they are on our side.
