And so it begins....

You are obviously uneducated on how a bumpstock works. The trigger is depressed and released for each release of the hammer, it does not continually cycle unless you depress and release the trigger each time. Atf definition listed above.
So what is the purpose then if it acts exactly like a semi-automatic weapon?

But it doesn't, does it? The rate of fire with a bump stock approaches that of a fully automatic weapon, which you can't readily do with a semi-automatic weapon.

Read the definition of a machine gun in the GCA.

Rate of fire has absolutely nothing to do with the definition of a machine gun....

Plenty of videos of people out pacing a bumpfire stock with a sd3g or hiperfire or similar trigger and training as well.. even have a few with mil spec triggers that can....

Stop distracting yourselves with the bump stocks. A new bill was just put on the table in Canada to allow cities to ban handguns. It looks like some air soft stuff might also be getting banned because it looks like real guns.
Stand together and put aside the petty stuff, if you don’t you will be following my country soon enough.
On a lighter note: bump stocks seem kinda gimmicky anyways, I mean I have belt loops too you know ;)

The point isn't the bumpstock, it is the precedent that bypassing congress and redefining a machine gun through executive power sets that is most worrisome.

That going this same way in the future they could ban essentially anything they choose, and I have no faith in the court system to "save" us.

Feel sorry for you guys in the north with your rights going the way of the dodo bird, hopefully the US embraces it's founding spirit for the right of self preservation and civil liberties.

It's obvious you've never used one, and you are out of your element on this discussion.

The argument of what a bump stock does or does not do is irrelevant. The point that needs to be hammered home is a bureaucracy changed definitions on a whim to suit their agenda. Now the next ATF target is pistol braces, rifle caliber pistols, etc.

I don’t know. I see it as no effect like everyone else here, that’s why I don’t care if it happens or not. It won’t affect me or anyone I know. I think it’s $5.00 for a background check in PA but I’m not sure.
