I have heard some good things about the Amazon tipi tents. I am looking for something for backpacking with a stove hole. Anyone have experiance with these tents? I am really curious about how good they are - and how tough. I KNOW they are not like a Kifaru but they also cost 1/5 as much.

I do not know which one but I have had a couple guys specifically mention they are a really good bang for your buck. Above is one I am looking at.

I bought that tent in October for a November deer hunt here in Idaho. It worked very well, but does weigh more than the premium brands. Having a wood stove was awesome. My hunting buddy and me both tagged out and the tent did play a good part of being able to stay out longer and hunt harder.

my buddy bought one and we used it as a base camp hang out for truck camping recently. Not sure his model was light enough to backpack with. I can tell you we got the tent up to 80 degrees with the stove burning. plenty of space for 3 guys to sit around in with some gear. For sleeping I'd only fit 2 guys and the stove. I believe his was a 6 or 8 man. Again not to sure on specifics but seemed worth a trial.

Thanks, I did not pull the trigger. After careful thought I want this solely for tough hunts in cold, not the time to trust something cheap. Lot's of reviews mentioned holes from stove embers. That said I definitely think they are good deal for the price.

I tried one just to see. the bottom hem was way too tight. there was no way to get the sides even close to tight enough to use with the guyouts it had and it was around 6" off the ground. no flap or way to stake it down besides the long loops that allowed it to ride up off the ground.

I set it up in the yard, messed with it for 5 minutes, rolled it up and sent it back.

GOOD LUCK!
