SO 4 man tipi half nest troubleshooting

Tried searching other posts but could not find an answer. I have an older SO 4 man tipi in great condition I would like to run a floor/ half nest to help with ticks. They do not sell the floor/ nests that fit the this tipi anymore. On their website they state the cimmeron half nest does not fit the 4 man tipi. I am wondering if anyone has tried using the Cimmaron half nest with modifications to make it fit? I don’t want to replace a perfectly good tent just to get a floor if I don’t need too. They are so close in size I wonder if the half nest could be modified to fit. Thanks.

Hey! There are a few things you can do.

No. 1- A cim half nest is only a couple of inches to big so it can technically go tn there if you are willing to sacrifice some space. The LBO nest or cougar nest that we use to make, would work. We may be bringing the LBO nest back soon. May be able to find a used one.

No. 2- How many people are you looking to sleep in there? Our new Brightwater nest would definitely work in there for one person. You may be able to use two of em side by side as well but i have never tried that.
No. 3- Custom options. There is a company called bearpaw wilderness designs out that has made many custom nests and floor for our customers. You can also hit this company up click here for a custom cut tyvek floor.

Overall probably the best is a custom option from bear paw but it may take a bit.

One of my hunting buddies used the Argali half nest in his SO 4 man tipi and it worked well with no, or nearly no, modifications. Might be worth a look before paying a custom shop to fab you up one. Some simple measurements should tell the tale so to speak.
