.25 Cal (Quarter Bore) / Big Game Success - 25 Creed, 25-284, 25-06, 25 PRC, 25 SAUM

Curious about this. Ever since the release of the Western, I thought it would be neat to neck one down to a 25. I know the 6.8 Western is very similar .270 WSM, and a few folks necked that down to 25 in the past. I thought a Western might be more viable due to brass availability? Any specs on your rifle/load data?

3100 fps out of my 20" bbl is where I feel comfortable running it with the 130 class bullets.

I like anything 25cal, and have been shooting 25-06s for a long time now. But I want a short mag of some sort. I’ve got 2 700s a short action and a long action both mag bolt face. Also have a tikka 6.5prc I’ve thought about using. Looking at a 25saum, 25prc, and 25-300wsm. I usually shoot all my rifles like a single shot. So which action would y’all use? Only concern about the tikka is stock options.

I keep seeing this and don't understand it. AG Composites, McMillan, MCS, Peak 44, Echelon, Woox, and Stocky's all make well designed stocks with Tikka inlet. I'm not a chassis guy but I know there are multiple options there too.

Right? Literally a non issue unless you have a specific stock in mind that isn’t inletted for Tikka and can’t be purchased as a flat top

Bison, 100ish yards. 257 Weatherby w/100 gr TTSX at 3600 at the muzzle. First shot it was laying down, quartering away and looking at us. At the shot it jumped up, walked about 10 feet and stood there sick. 2nd shot, it hunched, spit blood ran 3 or 4 steps and fell over and kicked for a minute.

Total pass throughs. Front portion of the lungs were soup.

The shooter was skeptical of the “small caliber” being able to kill it. I assured him that cartridge-bullet combo will kill anything on earth… and it did without fuss.

25-06? My first centerfire was a Ruger just like that in .243. Sold it like a dummy years ago.

So far so good. 20” and running close to 2900 w the 135 Berger w Rl26

Yea these are super cool and this was also my very first bolt gun too. I love the classic fit and finish. Shoots great as well.

N565 just showed up so going to push this one to pressure and back off 1 or 2gr

59-60 n565 should be the sweet spot for that saum. The 135’s have all hammered in all the saums I’ve built seated .085” off.
