Come on Ruger American...huh. just seems crazy to have factory eld-x ammo with no factory rifles
Is that dated when it was Saami approved or when Hornady announced factory ammo? From Hornady’s website View attachment 871643
Good point for sure but Hornady has a pretty amazing marketing team, and lots of folks love to jump on the latest and greatest bandwagon. These velocities are just telling me I need to revisit my current 25-284 load as I'm obviously leaving some meat on the bone.I could see there being some hangup. A lot of manufacturers don’t currently produce anything in .25 cal, so they don’t have blanks to work with. With cartridges like 6 creed, it’s easy for them to work with since they are already making 243 barrels (aside from the twist being different)
Could be wrong though

They'd be one of the first, and SavageCome on Ruger American...

If they do that I’m gonna be pissed off anyways because my 7.5tw barrel probably won’t stabilize themIt will be interesting to see if this 128 grain ELDX stymies development of a Hornady 120 range 6mm bullet.
The page is new -- and came with a full site refresh. Is that dated when it was Saami approved or when Hornady announced factory ammo?
It would be awesome to go grizzly hunting with a .25. They kill interior grizzlies in AK with .223 every season, and Ryan killed a freaking giraffe with a 6UM. No reason a traditional .257 Weatherby, .25-06, .257, or modern .25 with the right loads in a hunting situation couldn't knock the stuffing out of a grizz.Grizzly with a .25 is not something I would care to do, but they did it.
I'd rather have a 25-284 than a 25 cmI'd really like to get my 25-284 over 2900 fps. It has greater case capacity than the 25 Creed, and I'm running a 22", so not a terrible length penalty. H1000 is a very accurate load, but I think I'm gonna push it with some other powders and see how far I can get. I see the 128 precision hunter is already out of stock at Midway. It's showing a .633 G1, so you're not losing much against the 134 at .645.
I would like to see hornady load data, nothing available on their app yet. These velocities are just telling me I need to revisit my current 25-284 load as I'm obviously leaving some meat on the bone.
I had both and now only have a 25cm. Maybe if you want a real short barrel and still need some speed but the fairly small velocity difference was not worth it for me. Roughly 100fps difference and burning quite a bit more powder in the 284I'd rather have a 25-284 than a 25 cm
That’s an interesting thought. Seems slow for that cartridge range normally but would definitely be impressive.I would like to see hornady load data, nothing available on their app yet.
Possibly the reason for the worldwide shortage of r26?
