.25 Cal (Quarter Bore) / Big Game Success - 25 Creed, 25-284, 25-06, 25 PRC, 25 SAUM

They did say on the podcast that they had lots of partners on board. I wouldn't be surprised if they already had commitments from rifle manufacturers.

I could see there being some hangup. A lot of manufacturers don’t currently produce anything in .25 cal, so they don’t have blanks to work with. With cartridges like 6 creed, it’s easy for them to work with since they are already making 243 barrels (aside from the twist being different)

Could be wrong though
Good point for sure but Hornady has a pretty amazing marketing team, and lots of folks love to jump on the latest and greatest bandwagon. These velocities are just telling me I need to revisit my current 25-284 load as I'm obviously leaving some meat on the bone.

It will be interesting to see if this 128 grain ELDX stymies development of a Hornady 120 range 6mm bullet. I could see them saying if you want heavier bullets you need to move up to the .25s.

Those are likely only barrels, not chambered rifles. Guys have been getting 25 Creed prefits for a few years now.

EDIT: I was hasty with this reply. A quick Google search revealed Horizon and West Texas Ordinance chambered rifles. There are probably others, but I've not seen a mainstream "big box" rifle manufacture have anything chambered in it- Winchester, Browning, Savage, Ruger, etc...

I knew two Wyoming old timers that used the Savage .250-3000 in a Model 99 for everything Wyoming had to offer, including Grizzly. This was long before the modern .25s. Grizzly with a .25 is not something I would care to do, but they did it.

I'd really like to get my 25-284 over 2900 fps. It has greater case capacity than the 25 Creed, and I'm running a 22", so not a terrible length penalty. H1000 is a very accurate load, but I think I'm gonna push it with some other powders and see how far I can get. I see the 128 precision hunter is already out of stock at Midway. It's showing a .633 G1, so you're not losing much against the 134 at .645.

It would be awesome to go grizzly hunting with a .25. They kill interior grizzlies in AK with .223 every season, and Ryan killed a freaking giraffe with a 6UM. No reason a traditional .257 Weatherby, .25-06, .257, or modern .25 with the right loads in a hunting situation couldn't knock the stuffing out of a grizz.

I'd rather have a 25-284 than a 25 cm
