Matching BC and Velo between the two, it looks like a smaller .280ai. I think this is going to make a LOT of people happy.

Did you find a good load for the 134?Long shot, but I figured I would ask. I finally have time to start loading up for my .257 weatherby mag that I had a new fast twist barrel put on. Has anyone loaded the 134 eldms? I can't find any load data for it. I even asked hornaday, they said their test rifle doesn't have a fast enough twist so they don't have data. The closest I can find is data for the 135 berger. Do you think it would be fine to use that data? Given I would work my way up.

This is spot on. With the heavier and better assortment of .25 cal bullets, it will be interesting to see what’s next with other cartridges. PRC and RPM both come to mind.I’m, for one, happy to see it. Not the CM name necessarily but attention to the 25 class. I’m itching to try factory match ammo and see if it shoots anywhere near my hand loads. I’d be buying in bulk if it did.
I’ve never been able to pick up any when I’ve tried looking for it but now I might have to make it a point to try. Although I tend to run shorter barrels these days because I mostly run suppressed so that might hinder the outcome some.2800s in a 24” is reasonable given my own experience with the -284 and Willfry and others’ 25 CM handloads.
And I agree if these factory loads are as good as their other creed loads, the 25 really becomes an easy button for anybody that “perceives” 6mm is too small but doesn’t want a 6.5 or bigger.
Agree. My 18” 7-08 is so freaking handy with a can it makes everything longer just out of balance. My 22” -284 feels like a boat anchor comparatively, and I’m considering getting it fluted. I bought it in a laminate stock and plan to try it out in an OEM Tikka with vertical grip this summer. Unless there is a magic powder out there I haven’t found, I don’t want to sacrifice any more barrel length/velocity loss.I’ve never been able to pick up any when I’ve tried looking for it but now I might have to make it a point to try. I would think you could poke around the 25 PRC loads and start there. I don’t recall the case capacity of the WBY, but I think you’re 80+ in it and the PRC.Did you find a good load for the 134?
also interested too since 20" is the shortest I've heard of anyone running a 257
For sure, I'm actually trying to decide between the two cartridges for my next barrel and load data is hard to find for the 257 for the heavier bullets.I would think you could poke around the 25 PRC loads and start there. I think the 25-6.5 prc might not get there. Might have to step up to the 25-7prc.Agree. My 18” 7-08 is so freaking handy with a can it makes everything longer just out of balance. To get 2900 out of an 18” a guy would have to step up to 25 SAUM, 25 WSM, or 25 PRC.
Agree and I think that’s where most guys are at with the 25 (7) PRC. The 6.5 case only has slightly more capacity than the .284.I think the 25-6.5 prc might not get there. Might have to step up to the 25-7prc.
The 7 PRC brass may be cheaper and more available than the WBY.For sure, I'm actually trying to decide between the two cartridges for my next barrel and load data is hard to find for the 257 for the heavier bullets.
I didn't end up getting time to mess with it. I'll definitely report back when I do.Did you find a good load for the 134?

Curious about this. Ever since the release of the Western, I thought it would be neat to neck one down to a 25. I know the 6.8 Western is very similar .270 WSM, and a few folks necked that down to 25 in the past. I thought a Western might be more viable due to brass availability? Any specs on your rifle/load data?I went 25 western not 25-7prc
Great cartridge. Took my biggest deer with a 257AI.Well, I went old school. Got a .257 Roberts AI. 5.5 pounds bare. Ultra Light Arms Model 20 with 24-inch barrel.
Just now starting load development.
I’ll probably use it on a mule deer hunt in November.
Doing anything special to get enough powder in the case? Just finished my build and searching for data.Try N570, i'm getting scary velocity & groups out of mine

Did you have to do anything special to get that much n570 in the case?My 25SST 26” was pushing 131s 3260fps with 61gr of n570. That load is on the milder side in my rifle.
62gr runs at 3320fps
Thanks!I mainly run h1000 in that rifle. But I might have been using a 12” drop tube with the top n570 charges. I can’t remember for sure.
