Impact velocity?Got to test the 134 eld on big game today. Large cow elk at 400 yards, traveled 30 yards after the shot on a death run. Down in 2-3 seconds. Baseball sized hole through the lungs View attachment 617733View attachment 617732View attachment 617734
2540fps. Not much of a test or challenging situation but I’m a meat hunter when it comes to elk and wasn’t about to pass on a tasty cowImpact velocity?
It’s good to see the 25 eldms working like the others2540fps. Not much of a test or challenging situation but I’m a meat hunter when it comes to elk and wasn’t about to pass on a tasty cow
Is there a compelling reason to go any route other than 25-06 with a fast twist blank?
MkV action if it matters. Brass life and availability matter far more to me than FPS.
My first fast twist was 25-06. I ended up necking down lapua 30-06 and then had to neck turn. Probably would have been fine just using hornady brassIs there a compelling reason to go any route other than 25-06 with a fast twist blank?

If you're set on the 25-06 then make it an AI and cut back on your brass trimming which will help brass life and get a little more speed out of it while you're at it.Is there a compelling reason to go any route other than 25-06 with a fast twist blank?

you can easily neck down .30-06 and .270 brass. I created around 250- .25-06 cases from once fired .30-06 with one pass through my Redding FL .25-06 sizing die. Measure and trim to desired length. Is there a compelling reason to go any route other than 25-06 with a fast twist blank?

Check out this thread I started to get some data compiled for 25 cals.I was wondering if anyone has experience with a 18" 25 Creedmoor running the 133-135 class Bergers / Hornady bullets? I am trying to get an idea what kind of speeds I could expect.

Fast twist 25 cal real world data
I’ve got a real soft spot for the quarter bore and want to start gathering some components to put together a build. In the mean time I’m very interested to hear from any of you guys that have a fast twisted 25 shooting the 130+ grainers. What’s your cartridge, bullet, barrel length and velocity...rokslide.com
