I never need much of an excuse, but have to pace myself!

Thanks. She isn’t new to shooting, but certainly is to centerfire rifles and hunting.
Copy that. My girls never 'wanted' to shoot before the suppressor(s). They'd get into it once we were at the range, but wouldn't ask to go, or anything.

The rimfire suppressor is the real work horse. We all giggle when the steel at 100 yards rings louder than the .22

For hunting with kids, communication is so critical. Being able to shoot a hearing safe rifle is awesome.

Question for the group, I have an LWRCI AR 1-7” rifle and an 11 yr old daughter to outfit. Would I be better set up putting a scope on the AR, getting some tmk’s, and spending money on a suppressor for her to shoot/hunt with or by getting a Tikka set up and purchasing a suppressor down the line?
Just understand that an AR might still be sorta loud at the shooters ear due to port pop. And, may end up pushing more gas into the users face. I think those can be lessened/eliminated with some parts and tuning though.

This, and the AR will be much heavier than a corresponding bolt gun. If you are doing the carrying and the shooting will be from a rail or tripod, that won't matter much, but if the shooting position will require a bit of gun support by the shooter, a bolt gun may be a better option.

I know it isn't a popular opinion on this particular thread, but you could look into getting a Ruger American Ranch and a suppressor for just a bit more than a Tikka setup would cost you. Just another option.

Creedmore sports has the 77 tmk in stock. Just grabbed a few and left some for the rest of you. The Black Hills is not as cheap as the AAC ammo but I want to compare speed and accuracy.

Ammoseek and wikiarms must suck for TMK searches. Thanks for the heads up.
None of my searches came up with either. Might have just hit the website? They are up to $1.50/round now from $1.40/round last year. I bought a case of them so I'm good for a little bit plus the AAC 77tmk shot good for me but around 75 fps slower than the BH 77tmk. Nobody can keep any 77tmk ammo in stock!

Hopefully there will be a bunch hitting shelves. I grabbed some but not as many as I would like. I thought I had eight boxes of 500 on the shelf and was thinking I was set for the next two years. then last week I grabbed the top box and realized I had 500 tmk’s and 3500 77gr bthp’s. Closest I’ve come to crying since my son was born! lol

I have the Tikka T3x and sending it off for a chop and thread at 18", the UM Tikka rings are ordered along with the trigger spring, the SWFA 3-15x42 is also ordered and shipped (wanted the 3-9 but they do not have an ETA), I also ordered the RokStok with a 6 month wait....

Here is where I am looking for guidance: bottom metal and mags!
I see that UM has bottom metal that only accepts UM mags. The mags ar 120 or 130 each! And the bottom metal is nearly 200. Seems a bit steep for limited options. My thought is that I could lose a mag during or on my way to a hunt. If I have a "generic" bottom metal, I could swing into a store and save the day with a generic mag!

What bottom metal/mag combo are you using with high reliability. I am not a reloader yet but might become one in the next few years... maybe. No immediate need to hold longer than average bullets as I will be shooting factory. What is your dependable go to? And where should I look for them?

(I do not have experience with the Tikka mags that I hear rattle and are less than 99% reliable. And I prefer to not have a plastic bottom "metal" but again, no personal experience. Am I worried about nothing or is there something to it?)

Continue to do research, if you want to save a few bucks, there are some more options but not any that I’ve seen around like 100$. Most bottom metal is around 150-200 but mags vary depending on brand and cartridge size from my looking around.

I’ve always been intrigued by lightweight bows and “underpowered” guns. Not sure why. They always seem to do the job though!

I can’t believe the UM bottom metal and mags cost that much.
I was on the fence, then they had a 20% off pre-order, so i ordered 2 mags + bottom metal.

I used to shoot trap with a gentleman that used to always say "It only costs a little more to go first class!" He did own a diamond store though. :ROFLMAO:
