.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

Seems like a good time to ask, has there been any noticable accuracy differences between the stainless barrels and blued barrels? With ARs I lean towards stainless for more accuracy but that's apples to tomatoes.
In a Tikka there will be no difference. The Roughtech has a heavier contour than the standard T3x, but others than thickness, all of the Tikka barrels are the same.

Accuracy should be the same for stainless and blued. I prefer the stainless for corrosion resistance. I'm in Louisiana, we have high humidity. If I lived in a dryer place I would use whichever one I found.

For those willing to buck Rokslide norms a bit, Seekins now has the 22 ARC available in the PH3, Element M3, and Element Hunter. EuroOptic quoted me ~60 days for fulfillment and delivery. 22CM was also announced but is behind the 22 ARC in the production queue and was more of a December/January time frame. Seekins is also selling 20" prefits ($525) and bolt heads ($125) on Europtic for the new PH3/M3 actions.

I've been running the new Element M3 action (6CM) in my Slam chassis. I've been running it pretty hard now for about 4 months and have been impressed. The new lug and bolt design, combined with them ditching the internal action coating they were previously using, results in a MUCH smoother action than the PH2/M2. The modularity of the platform is also quite cool, specifically the quick detach barrel system. It doesn't result in anything that you can't already get from your Tikka, but instead of needing the force of God to get your barrel off (as with your Tikka), it can be twisted off with your hands after loosening the barrel collar. I've taken my barrel off and on a few times just to test things out. It can be done in just a few minutes with nothing more than a torque head driver and it has had zero impact on my point of impact and accurarcy. The gun continues to hammer regardless how much I fiddle with the barrel detach system 😂.

I just ordered a 22 ARC prefit, ARC bolt head, and ARC magazine for under $700 off EuroOptic and and will be bouncing between 22 ARC and 6CM for the next year or so depending on the use case. Don't want to sound like too much of a Seekins fanboy as I do love my Tikka 223.. But I'm quite impressed with what Seekins has cooking up with the PH3/M3.

Do they have different sized actions depending on the chambering?

I sure wouldnt be scared of running a blued gun. Also I refuse to pay the extra money for stainless.. The few stainless guns I have are only because the deal was right.
My blued 223 T3X has been in my bathroom that we shower in a couple-few times/day with a magazine full of TMK’s for two weeks on standby for a raccoon problem we have been having with the chickens at night.

Zero hint of rust on either the action or barrel.

How many times a day do you shower? I thought once a day was enough. And how many people are showering at once?

When I was a kid, the neighbor behind us (an old Italian guy with an amazing garden) somehow decided to raise a baby racoon. It was really cute for a few weeks, but things got ugly pretty fast.

I’m good for one at the least, and the Mrs Is good for two. If I’m lucky enough they get combined. She also forgets to turn the vent fan on at least half the time.

So, 2-3 showers per day over the course of a couple weeks, zero rust. I normally don’t like to beat on stuff so badly but I figured “if it rusts I will cerakote it a cooler color”.

Are you showering with your chickens or wtf? I am confused right now
So… My safe is in the basement with my reloading room, music room, etc etc. I have played this game before, and getting a gun with a suppressor out of the safe always takes way too long and the bad critter gets away.

I have an 870 in my closet for HD, but despite not having neighbors, touching that bad boy off at 2AM would certainly wake my 1 year old and ruin my night.

When I am having bad critter problems, the RSS lives in my bathroom because it is a good window to shoot out of.

Better to look for the 73gr eld-m ammo then? Not going to have time to reload before I hunt up here so I'm looking for a factory load. I can find those 75gr cheap so maybe they'll just be fine for practice. I can also find fusion 62gr for pretty cheap as well.
What are you shooting at? If all you can find are the 75 I wouldn’t let that stop me.
