@Formidilosus. Do you still catch the top part of lungs with that shot placement?
That's the problemI think @Moosehunter is looking for a Tikka .223 boltface. Not a 223 bolt gun.
Tikka bolt assembly
Tikka bolt assembly. 223, Standard and magnum bolt face. Manufactured and assembled from quality steel machined pieces, Right hand.jaoutdoors.com
Probably better to buy the whole t3x and pull the bolt out, sell off the rest.

Congratulations to the hunter. Nice deer that will make some great meals.View attachment 648939
My 12 yr old son harvested his first whitetail with the Rokslide Special yesterday. Thanks to Form and all the members that contribute to making this the best hunting forum on the internet.
I generally prefer a bit farther forward, versus higher and forward

That flops them.
The main intersection.Yes sir. The front half of them will be severely damaged. I prefer that slightly forward shot, because a “high shoulder” is about 2 inches from being over the spine and not entering the chest cavity at all. The forward placement I showed with the dot- if you hit it- it’s an instantaneous bang flip. A bit high, same, and bit forward- same as you catch the spine at the base of the neck. And a bit back is a solid lung shot.

Is there an equivalent aim point to high shoulder for a bang flop, when given a straight on presentation?
That sure looks like a non-Form-approved Remington...
Who has used the SWFA 10x without issues for hunting ? I want the 6X but they appear to be very difficult to find. The 10x is in stock and also in the classifieds. My shots are routinely 200 plus on deer
