Many years back, early and mid 70"s my brother had 160 acres in the Piute Mt. It was a great Mt. quail area, we actuaclly had access to over 700 acres. One season after a large fire north of the property made the hunting in that area exceptional. Myself and three other guys got over 75 Mt. quail over the season. Those days are but memories.

Recent out of state Midwest public hunt

I haven't gotten many pictures from the field, but the pup's been doing pretty well. Cover is thin and bird numbers aren't great this year, but we've been scratching out some birds and getting him bird contacts every weekend. Only 3 weekends left for us here in Nebraska.

After a couple months' hiatus to do other things and wait for better snow conditions, Ava showed that she's still the pterror of all ptarmigan. It was a nice hunt today
