    Witch Leupold for my 325wsm

    I ran the VX3 3.5-10 x 40 CDS on a Kimber Montana .325 WSM. It was a great combination.

    External Frame Packs

2blade, I have handled an Exo, tried one on with weight, but haven't carried one any distance. They do seem to be a very good pack.

What is lighter than para cord?

+1 on the zing-it. You can buy it from Redden Marine: http://www.reddenmarine.com/ It is great for guy lines, hanging food bags, tying off elk legs when boning and many other used.

    External Frame Packs

Luke, Not sure of the specs on the cubic tech fabric they are using but it is a lot more burley than my Granite Gear or Zpack Cuben stuff sacks. I guess I'll find out :) I still have my Evolution but it may become an endangered species with having the Unaweep.

    External Frame Packs

I've been using the Evolution and just finished putting together a 4800 cubic inch Cuben bag on a Paradox Unaweep frame. 3 lbs 1 oz with the side zipper and a Cuben Talon.

Camp Cookware: Do you bring a bowl?

If eating freeze dried food, I just bring a long handled ti spoon and eat out if the bag. No extra weight, no bowl to wash.

    Anyone run with a daypack?

I think the rating is low. The 20 liter seems more like a 25 liter pack and the 30 liter that I saw at the Outdoor Retailer show was very good sized. The UD sales manager had close to 40 lbs of catalogs in his Fastpack 30 at OR and it actually carried well. I have had about 15 lbs in my 20...

    Anyone run with a daypack?

Ultimate Direction will be offering a 30 liter Fastpack within the next month. I really like the 20 liter and plan on picking up a 30 as well.

    Alpaca Socks

I have used them for a couple years and like them. Mostly Dalghren brand. I can't really say I have found them any better than a good Merino like Darn Tough or Bridgdale though.

    External Frame Packs

Check out the Paradox packs. Carries heavy loads the best of all the packs I have used and I have used a lot of them.

Hanwag Yukon size 12 & Lowa Hunter GTX Evo size 11.5 F/S

I have for sale a pair of Hanwag Yukon boots size 12. Excellent condition, less than 25 miles on them. These are not a Gore-Tex boot. They are leather lined so they breath much better. They retail for $350, I am asking $195 shipped to a US address for these like new boots...

    Kahtoola micro spikes?

I love the MicroSpikes. Have used them all and MicroSpikes work the best for me and my hunting. I'm still on my original pair from their 1st year. I think they did have some problems with the rubber a couple years back but that seems corrected,

    Dog Pack

My favorite dog pack is the Ruff Wear Palisades. I like that the bags come off the harness quickly. Well made pack. I have also had good luck with the Mountain Smith and Granite Gear packs.

    Darn Tough Socks - Failure

If you have a Darn Tough dealer, you can just take the socks in and they will give you a new pair. The dealer then can send them in for credit. Saves you some time and postage.

    running pack

The HPG Tarra works pretty. I'd also consider the UD PB Vest: http://www.ultimatedirection.com/p-599-pb-adventure-vest.aspx?category=signature-series I have been using a PB since November and I like it a lot.

i can get a Leupold Kenai HD for $575, should i buy it before it's gone?

Kenai SK1, The Kenai is a very good spotting scope, I had one on loan from Leupold for the past 2 years and was quite impressed. It certainly doesn't match up with the Zeiss 85, but I would say it is the equal of the Zeiss 65 Fieldscope that came out last year. I really like the 30x wide angle...
