Picked up a 20-60x82mm spotter this week from Doug at Cameraland, and honestly I am wondering why I am not hearing more about these scopes?
For the price ($699 for this "Deal of the day") I am flat astounded. Clear, crisp images, a good build from what I can see, excellent adjustments, I mean it makes my Leupold Gold ring seem like a dinosaur.
For guys on a budget, I think these are worth a good hard look.
Just thought I would share :)

I've been contemplating in purchasing one of these. I have heard far more positive reviews on this spotter.

Before you purchase, were you contemplating any other spotters?

Never looked through a spotter but my Zen Ray binos are really nice and I wouldnt hesitate to get another set. Much better than my buddies leupolds.

Yeah, I actually went down and looked through all the offerings from Vortex and through the Swarovski ATX my buddy has. Luckily the Sportsmans by my house has a parking lot where you can stretch out to a few miles with spotters. I can honestly say that with my naked eye I can't tell any major difference between the Swarovski and the Zen-ray. The zen-ray and the vortex razor 85 are obviously based on one another, they are virtually identical from the outside visually. But the Zen-ray actually seems to be clearer IMO and the eyepiece fits better and more securely on the Zen-ray.
Just my impressions.

I guess everyone's eyes are different. I have owned the zen ray the razor 65 and now have the atx. I owned the zen Ray for two years, the vortex I've had for a month and the atx for a few weeks. The zen Ray deteriorates quickly. When I first had it it was superb. After a year I began to notice a difference and after two years it was terrible. I also prefer the 65mm vortex razor to the zen Ray 82. None of them are close to the atx. High noon I can still see them being similar. However if I look into the patches of trees 800 yards away I can pic apart all different details and the image is sharp. The razor has a very sharp image but the depth of field is less. The zen Ray I never could depict detail. The image on the zen Ray is also darker then the razor 65.
